Old Navy Fitting Room Reviews

Hi everyone – I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend.  I just wanted to share a few Old Navy (ON) fitting room reviews with all of you.  Last weekend I tried on a few dresses and tops and one pair of jeans.  I was inspired to make a trip to ON when I read several fantastic reviews from Gigi at Gigi’s Gone Shopping.  I was pleasantly surprised with everything that I tried on except for the pair of jeans, but I’ll talk more about that a little later.

I tried on this sweater in a small (S) and it fits TTS.   This sweater is pretty thin but it’s warm enough to transition into the fall weather.  I think this will be a great sweater to wear underneath a blazer or with a pencil skirt.  It’s a great alternative to J. Crew’s Cashmere Polka-Dot Sweater and the Tippi Sweater In Heart Me.  This sweater comes in polka-dot motif, several striped colors and solid colors.  This one is definitely going to come home with me soon, but I’m not sure which color to buy.

Short-Sleeved Sweaters…$19.94
I loved the polka dot version of the short-sleeve sweater, but I may have to grab this one in a solid color as well.  It’s also a lightweight sweater and it’s made from cotton.  I think that the sweater might run a little big because I tried on the only sweater in my store which was an extra small (XS).  The sweater fit me perfectly.  I think that the small would have been too big.  I grabbed this sweater right away because it was the only one in the store.  This sweater is only available on the ON website.

I obviously was on a polka dot themed day when I went to ON.  This dress comes in the polka-dot motif as seen here and also in a heart motif.  This dress is cute, but I wasn’t in love with this one.  I tried on this dress in a small (S) and it fits TTS.  The dress is knee length and I think it would be perfect for work.  The neckline is unique, but I’m not a big fan of the ruffles.  I’m going to leave this one in the store.

I tried this dress on in a size (4) and a size (6).  I only took a picture of the size (6) because it worked out best for me.  This dress ran a little small on me.  The size 4 was a little snug in the back and it pulled a little in the chest.  The only complaint that I have with the dress is the buttons were really difficult to go thru the fabric.  I’m hoping that they will loosen up after a while.  The chambray fabric is the perfect weight and the length is perfect for work too.  The website says that the dress has long sleeves, but the sleeves are actually 3/4 length sleeves.  I’m definitely going to pick this dress up soon.

I tried on the camp shirt in a small (S) and it fits TTS.  I bought a couple of these gingham shirts last year and I loved them.  I get compliments every time that I wear them.  The shirt comes in several checkered colors, several plaid prints and one floral pattern.  I plan to pick up this shirt soon because this color is going fast.

I didn’t take a picture of these jeans because the jeans were extremely tight and they looked almost a little obscene.  I even went up 3 sizes just to get them on my body.  I decided not to go up another size because the waistband was already pretty loose.  I realize that the Rockstar style is not for me especially because of my hourglass figure.  I’m going to stick with the sweetheart and flirt skinny jeans instead.

Have you bought anything from ON lately? What are some of your favorites?

Anthropologie Fitting Room Reviews

I just wanted to share a few Anthropologie fitting room reviews of some dresses and tops that caught my eye tonight.  I went into the store to check out the 30% off sale and to make a return.  Of course I could never walk in and just return something.  I’m really glad that I went to the store tonight because I was able to score a couple things and get a price adjustment on my shoes.  I was originally going to return my Malbec Heels because they were a too big.  I grabbed the only 9 ½ shoe that I saw.  My store doesn’t have a shoe section, so I didn’t think they would have the next size down, but they did.  I’m really glad I asked.  Anyways, when the SA exchanged them, the price came up cheaper than my Black Friday deal and I was able to get 30% off of them too.  I also found a Fractal Medallion Max dress in red and a Sidebent Tank in pink.  Anyways, here’s my fitting room reviews for all of you.  BTW…I also have a few OOTDs to post, so stay tuned.

Sorted Stripes Dress…$178.00
I love, love, love this dress!  I’m really glad that I tried this dress on because the picture of it online did nothing for me.  The picture isn’t the best, but it’s the best I can do with the iPhone.  This stunning Bailey 44 dress was an instant hit with me once I tried it on.  I tried on a small (S) and I think it was TTS.  It definitely hugged all of my curves in the right way.  The stretch jersey fabric was very soft and comfortable and I love the ruffled hem on the skirt.  The dress comes in a black and grey striped motif that would work for any occasion.  I can definitely see wearing this dress with some black or grey tights and bright, bold jewelry.  This dress gets two thumbs up from me.  I just added this one too my wish list.

Sumana Dress…$198.00
This dress caught my attention as soon as it arrived online.  I love all of the colors in this dress…it’s a beautiful combination.  I tried on the dress in a small (S), but I should have tried on an extra small.  After reading the reviews, it seems that some ladies were able to go down a size.  So grab a couple of sizes if you are interested in this one. I think that this dress would be flattering on any body type.  The cut of the dress is similar to a tunic.  I would wear this dress with tights and boots in the winter and some cute strappy sandals over the summer.  Tanvi Kedia, an Indian designer, created this spectacular beaded and embroidered pullover dress.  Do you know if she has ever partnered with Anthro in the past before now?  I was just curious.  This dress gets two thumbs up from me…I hope that this dress will be around long enough for me to grab one.  This one is on my wish list too.

This Tabitha dress has been very popular among Anthro lovers and there aren’t many of them left online.  I tried this on last month and there were only a handful of them left in the store tonight.  I love the diamond embroidery in the front of the dress and the exposed zipper in the back of the dress.  This material of this dress is made out of a heavy textured cotton that would is perfect for the cold weather.   I tried this dress on in a size 4 and it worked for me just fine.  This dress gets two thumbs up from me and an add to the wish list.

Fitting Room Reviews: Falling for Dresses

I tried on a few dresses at Anthro the other day and I wanted to share some of my reviews with all of you.  I plan to go back to the store to try on a few other things that have caught my eye.   Do you have any suggestions or requests?  Have any of you tried on these dresses yet?  Let me know!

Anthropologie – Veiled Alder Dress…$298.00
Isn’t this dress stunning?  I love everything about it – the cut, the lace, and the fit.  I tried on the dress in the dark grey color, but to me it looks more like a light taupe color.  This dress comes in black too, but I haven’t seen it in the store yet.  I bet that one would be lovely too.  I tried on a size (4) and it fit true to size.  There is a light adjustable liner under the dress that compliments the dress.  I have nothing negative to say about this dress except that the price is a little high.  I would love for this dress to go home with me today, but I will have to wait until this one goes on sale.  I just hope that Anthro has plenty of these in stock.  Whenever I wait for an item, I usually miss out.  This dress gets a thumbs up.

Anthropologie – Unconditional Osier Dress…$168.00
This dress was a perfect fit and it’s very comfortable.   I tried this dress on in the brown motif.  I didn’t see it in the blue in my store yet.  I tried on a size (4) and the fit was true to size.  The sheer floral design is just lovely.  This dress would look cute with a skinny belt and some boots.   This dress is also gets a thumbs up, but I will probably pass on this dress.

Anthropologie – Test Pattern Sweater Dress…$148.00
I love this dress too.  I tried this dress on in a small and thought it was very flattering.  I also think that the dress complimented my hourglass figure. The color, the pattern and the weight of the sweater dress was perfect.  I would pair this dress with some tights, boots and a long sleeve t-shirt.  I plan on getting this dress too.  This dress also gets a thumbs up.

Anthropologie – Glinting Persica Sweater Dress…$188.00
This dress is very romantic and beautiful.  The color of the dress includes a soft pink/peach color and light brown. The colors really compliment each other. The wool dress has gold metallic thread that shimmers all over.  I didn’t find that this dress was itchy, but I usually don’t have a problem with wool.  If you have sensitive skin this dress may bother you because there is no liner.  My favorite part of the dress is the cut out detail in the back of the dress.  It just adds a little something funky to a feminine dress.  This dress also gets a thumbs up.

Fitting Room Reviews: Signs of Summer (Part II)

Here is Part II of my fitting room reviews.  I tried on a few some random pieces in addition to the many dresses that I posted in Part I.  What do you ladies have your eye on this summer?  Let me know!

Anthropologie – The Gathering Tank…$48.00
I love, love, love this top!  This is another great t-shirt from Anthro.  I definitely plan on buying a few colors in this top through out the summer.  I tried this Deletta shirt on in a small (S) and it was TTS.  The fabric was just enough weight for the summer.   The colors are vibrant, the fit is flattering, the pleating is fantastic and the quality is excellent.  I just noticed that Anthro added the turquoise color.  This color is definitely coming home with me soon – I think that this color will sell out quickly.

Anthropologie – After Plaited Tank…$48.00
Since I live in Florida, I naturally have a ton of tank tops, but I have nothing quite like this one.  This tank top is so unique and comfortable.  I tried this on in a small (S) and I fell in love with the woven details on the back.  This tank only comes in a few colors.  It comes in the basics – white, grey and black and there’s a yellow striped tank.    I really hope that this one comes out in a few more colors for the summer.

Anthropologie – Nouveau Rose Skirt …$49.95 (was $98.00)
I bought this skirt in a medium (M) and I think it’s pretty true to size.   Some of the online reviewers mention that the skirt is hard to get around the hips and I agree.  I just decided to get the medium and it worked our fine for me.  The floral bloom pattern on this skirt is lovely and the colors are actually navy and cream.   This fabric is polyester with a polyester liner.  This skirt is a pull on skirt that can be dressed up and down.  It’s a great skirt for the summer and fall.

Anthropologie – Joe's Flare Trousers…$141.00
I wasn’t really looking for jeans, but I had to try these on when I saw them – they were exquisite.  The fabric on these jeans is very lightweight and feels like chambray.  These jeans are perfect for the summer.  I’m not sure if these jeans are true to size.  These jeans appear to look like a wide leg jean so you may be able to go down a size.  I’m curvy on the bottom and the size 29 worked perfectly for me.  I tried it on with this white top, but I can’t find the top on the website.  Do any of you know the name of it?

Fitting Room Reviews: Signs of Summer (Part I)

I stopped by Anthropologie last Friday to check out more of the tag sale, but then I realized that I haven’t done a fitting room review in some time.   Here are a few of my fitting room reviews on mostly full price items.  What do you ladies have your eye on this summer?  Let me know!

Anthropologie – Horkelia Shift …$178.00
When I first saw this dress, I knew I had to have it.  The color, the lace and the style of the dress were the perfect combination.  However, I was slightly disappointed when I tried it on.  I initially tried on a size (6) because of the straight cut of the dress.  I thought that I would have an issue with my hips, but I didn’t.  I then tried on the size (4) (pictured above) and it fit about the same.  The dress is baggy around the waist and was not very flattering.  I wish it were…I really loved this dress.  I thought about adding a belt to the dress to add some shape to it.  I don’t know…what do you think?

Anthropologie – Butterfly Net Dress…$158.00
When I first saw this dress in the store I instantly thought of my sister because of how much she loves butterflies.  Sis…this dress is definitely the one for you.  I tried this dress on in a size (4) and it fit okay except around my hips and thighs.  This vibrant blue cotton dress made by Nathalie Lete has a pencil skirt bottom that was a little snug on me.  The top of the dress could be worn strapless or with the detachable spaghetti straps.  This dress has beautiful yellow, pink, orange and green butterflies that demands attention.  I love the look of this dress, but unfortunately this one is a pass for me.

Anthropologie – Land Of Springs Dress…$59.95 (was $118.00)
I really loved the look of this dress, but I kind of wish it came in a solid color instead of stripes.  I love the fact that the fabric was a little heavier on top and on the bottom.  I also loved the cowl neck draping around my neck and the thick knots on my shoulders.  However, I felt that the horizontal stripes highlighted my hips a little too much.  I tried this on in a small (S) and it's TTS.

Anthropologie – Nautical Dreaming Chemise…$88.00
This chemise is in the lounge section, but I think this one could be worn as a causal dress.  I tried a small (S) in the raspberry color and fell in love.  This dress is extremely soft and lightweight with a flattering A-line bottom.  I paired it with the Line-Upon-Line Cardi ($148.00) for a complete look.

Anthropologie – Dynamic Zigs Dress…$158.00
I tried on a small (S) in this Plenty by Tracey Reese jersey knit dress.  I didn’t notice this dress online but the in-store mannequin caught my attention.  The store displayed the dress with the Pulling It Together Sweater in the ivory color and it looked amazing.  I was worried that the dress was going to be too clingy, but it wasn’t.  The fit was true to size and the length was perfect for my height.  The dress is very flattering and gathering around the waist was just the right touch.  This dress also comes in a blue motif.

Anthropologie – Cuernavaca Maxi…$158.00
This is another dress that I didn’t notice online, but the in-store mannequin caught my eye.   I tried it on in a size (4) and it fit perfectly on the top of the dress.  The top part of the dress is made of a jersey knit material that was comfortable and soft.  The two tone coloring of the dress is beautiful too.  The bottom half of the dress has a sunny and bright yellow design on a silk skirt.  The skirt length, however, was a little awkward.  It stopped a little bit above my ankle, close to my shins.  It also has slits on both sides of the skirt and I wasn’t a big fan of that.  I paired it with the Line-Upon-Line Cardi ($148.00) for a complete look.  I think that adding a belt to the dress could add a little more shape to the dress.

Fitting Room Reviews: Signs of Spring

I stopped by Anthropologie tonight to check out the sales and some of the store’s new spring arrivals.  Plus I had my birthday discount burning a hole in my pocket.    Here are a few of my fitting room reviews and some of my purchases.  What do you ladies have your eye on this spring?  Let me know!  I'll have to post the sale items tomorrow...stayed tuned!

Anthropologie – Draw The Line Cowlneck…$278.00
I love the look of this kimono like sweater.  My store didn't
get these in but there was an extra small (xs) returned to the
store.  The back of the sweater has a beautiful cut out too.

Anthropologie – Study Of Shapes Dress…$158.00
I love the cut of this dress, but I wasn't in love with
this pattern.   Also, the each dress has different pattern
placements that caused it to be unflattering.  I tried on the
size (4) and it was a little snug.  I didn’t go up a size because
it would have been too big on the top.  I also thought that
the colors were striking online and in person.  However,
this dress was not for me…I’ll have to pass on this one.

Anthropologie – Eastpointe Garden Top…$58.00
This top is true to size and I tried on the size (4).  It comes in
two colors: the blue motif and a mustard color.  The mustard is
sold out online and there is only one size left in the blue motif. I
don’t know if Anthro plans on getting more colors or more sizes.
The flowers in this top are perfect spring colors and they are
muted colors.  I love the ruffled sleeve and neckline.

Anthropologie – On The Agenda Shell…$88.00
The polka dot pattern is fun and the neck tie detail is adorable.
I originally tried on this top in a size (S) and felt that the top
was too baggy and not very flattering.  I later tried on the (XS)
and I was happy that I did.  The fit was much better.
It wasn’t oversized and the armpit hold fit just right.

Anthropologie – Resonance Cowlneck…$88.00
I initially wanted this top in the orange/tamale color, but when
I saw this striped one in person I decided to pick it up.  I tried
on the small (S) and fell in love.  The cowl neck was very
flattering and this top fits beautifully.  I felt like it made my waist
look smaller.  The length is long, but I think it’s great for tall women like me.

Anthropologie – A-Bit-Unruly Top…$48.00
I tried this top in the small (S) and found that it fit true to size.
The material was very soft and I loved the stripes.  However, I
thought that the asymmetrical neckline and the twist was
a little off.  I didn’t really love it.
