Moody Picks – Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: Early Access

I’m super excited because the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally here and just in time to save big on brand-new fall arrivals. Known by fashionistas as one of the best sales around, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale offers discounts to some world’s top designers. The sale starts July 17, 2015 through August 2, 2015; however, if you are a Nordstrom Rewards member you can beat the crowds and start shopping today with the Early Access Sale

The Early Access Sale starts today and runs until July 16th allowing you to get the styles and sizes that you want before everyone else. But you have to act fast because the sizes will sell out and the prices will return to their normal rate on August 3, 2015. If you don’t have a Nordstrom credit or debit card, then I encourage you to sign up for one here.  During this sale all cardholders will receive double point on all purchases, which will get you one step closer to earning a $20 Nordstrom Note (another added cardholder bonus).

I’ve picked out a few of my favorites so far that I would love to add to my wardrobe.  I didn’t buy much at the Half Yearly Sale, but I plan to make up for it with this sale. Are you going to check out the sale?  If so, what are some of the things on your list? Also don’t forget, Nordstrom always offers FREE shipping and FREE returns on any item you purchase, so start shopping!

Traveling Mood – IG Meetup in Chicago, IL.

I’ve been meaning to share a quick recap of my trip to Chicago from my first Instagram meetup event, but I’ve been so busy.   It's been about a month now, but it's finally here. Check out my photos below and #ChiTownMeetup on Instagram for all of the instalove and additional photos from all of the ladies that attended.

On Saturday, June 6, 2015, I had the pleasure of attending the Chicago Blogger Meetup organized by 3 fabulous ladies: Amy of @lovelyamy27, Thuy of @msthuymadeline and Lynsie of @lynsie84. These ladies put in a tremendous amount of time and effort into planning this event because the luncheon was truly a success. The attention to detail with the menu, decorations, the Instagram cookies and cake pops and the individualized monogrammed tote bags were just a few of the highlights from the afternoon. And I think I speak for everyone when I say that we all had an amazing time.

When the 3 party planners posted the invitation to attend this meetup, I signed up right away for additional information along with over a hundred other ladies.  In the end, 54 fashionable ladies including the 3 hostesses made their way to Chicago for our first Instagram meetup event. The group met for lunch in a private dining room at Wildfire Restaurant where we were spoiled by the most accommodating wait staff. It was the perfect space to meet and mingle with fellow Instagram bloggers.

Each time I attend a blogger event, I’m always reminded of how lucky I am to belong to an amazing community of creative women. When I first started blogging, I really didn't think about interacting with other bloggers face to face. I always thought that it would be nice to have at least one blogger friend so we can take each other's outfit pics, but that was about it. Of course over the past few years, my thought process has changed dramatically and I’m so happy to interact and meet new women who inspire me daily.  I never would have guessed that I would find a whole blogger family on Instagram!

If you’re ever on the fence about attending one of these events, I definitely encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new.  Truth be told, I’m always a little hesitant about attending a blogger conference/meetups, because I’m an introvert by nature.  I don’t know if anyone usually notices because I can go to a party and “meet” people and carry on a conversation.  However, I’m truly most comfortable sitting with people I already know or getting to know 2 or 3 people in a smaller setting. Typically, I force myself to go to these types of events and I wind up having an amazing time.  I haven’t been to an event yet, where all of the women weren’t friendly and courteous and this event was no different.  I'm so glad that I went and finally got to put a real face to a name.

Aside from thanking our amazing hostesses, I also wanted to thank all of the rest of the ladies that made it out to Chicago.  This event couldn’t have existed without all of us participating.  A huge thank you goes out to everyone for making this event possible.  I know that there have been some rumblings about having another meetup event sometime next year.  And I definitely plan to attend, so maybe I’ll see you there. If you’re interested in attending the next event, then be sure to follow one of the hostesses via Instagram to stay in the know. Until next time ladies!
