2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - Early Access Details

Happy Monday Friends! If you have been a Moody Girl In Style reader for a while, then you know how much I love shopping the The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  If you aren't familiar with the sale then check out all of the details that I'm sharing below.

WHAT IS THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE?

Nordstrom holds the Anniversary Sale every summer to feature some new fall and winter items that are usually marked down about 35  to 40% off. This is the best time to check out the new fall styles for the season and stock up on some wardrobe basics and splurge-worthy pieces like boots, jackets, handbags and high-end denim.  And you can save on lots of well known brands like SPANX, Sam Edelman, Tory Burch, Free People, Madewell, North Face and so much more!  

VIRTUAL CATALOG PREVIEW

The best way to get ready for the #NSale is to know exactly what's included this year.  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2021 Preview makes it easy to review and pre-shop all of the items that are available.  If it isn't your turn to shop, then you can save all of your favorites to your wishlist until it's time to checkout. Here are some of my top picks that I have my eye on so far.  Some of them I already own and there are few currently on my wishlist:

DATES YOU NEED TO KNOW

Early Access is a special perk reserved for Nordstrom cardmembers. The Nordy Club level is based on yearly spend amounts, though all cardmembers automatically start at Influencer status. You can only shop Anniversary Sale Early Access as a cardmember on the following dates: July 12: Early Access for cardmembers with Icon status; July 14: Early Access for cardmembers with Ambassador status; July 16: Early Access for cardmembers with Influencer status and July 28: Anniversary Sale opens to the general public - Everyone.

HOW TO SHOP EARLY ACCESS

The best way to shop the sale before everything sells out is making sure that you have Early Access.  Nordstrom Cardholders have the opportunity to shop the sale about 2 weeks earlier than everyone else. But don't worry if you don't have a Nordstrom card, because the sale is open to the public on July 28th and some of the item will be restocked.

If you don’t already have a Nordstrom Credit Card, then you will need to sign up here to gain early access. And if you apply for the Nordstrom Card before July 10th, then you will get a $60 bonus note that can be used at a later time. 

SHOPPING STRATEGY

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale can be very overwhelming, especially if you don’t have a plan in place.  I think number one thing that you should do is to assess your fall wardrobe and make a list of items that you need to add/replace in your closet. And the second thing that would be helpful is to set an overall budget for yourself.  It’s really easy to get caught up in the excitement of the sale and spend more than you intended.  Remember - that this sale happens every year, so 

Pro Tip: Buy Now, Return Later - With that being said, don’t be afraid to order multiples sizes since some items sell out really fast and the shipping/return is free.  Be sure to focus on items that you use regularly and take advantage of stocking up on wardrobe basics and any home items.  This is also a good time to start thinking of holiday gifts.

WHAT SHOULD I BUY?

I’ve been shopping the Anniversary Sale for a few years now and I’ve noticed that Nordstrom tends to bring back some of the same items.  They may tweek an item here and there, but for the most part some are the same like these High-waisted Zella Leggings, this super soft Plush Throw, the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings, this Madewell Kent Colorblock Cardigan and the infamous Barefoot Dreams In the Wild Throw and this year's new floral design.  

This year I plan to be very focused on things that I need to replace in my closet and a few items that I missed out on last year.  I plan to look for a really good pair of jeans, a couple of sweaters, basic t-shirts, a skirt and a couple of shoes.  Below are a few collages with more #nsale items that caught my eye!

Five Summer Dresses From Walmart!

Happy Wednesday Friends! Today I'm sharing some of my favorite summer dresses and footwear styles from Walmart. 

I don't know about you, but I'm very excited that we're transitioning back into the world and that we finally have places to go and people to see this summer.  Since so many of us are traveling and making plans for the beach or a backyard barbecue, I thought it would be great time to show you some of the new dresses that I picked up from Walmart over the past couple of months. And don't be surprised to see these dresses a few more times in the next few months, they will be on repeat all summer long.

If you're looking to update your wardrobe and you don't want to break your budget, then you're in the right place. Walmart has several amazing brands right now and they have become my new go-to destination for affordable summer fashion.  One of my favorite Walmart fashion brands is the Free Assembly line for men and women. It's a newish brand that is committed to sustainability with responsible sourcing and considered design. They offer wide selection of eco-friendly fabrics (including organic cotton and recycled polyester) and an inclusive size range. Another one of my favorites is the Scoop line which carries some of the latest fashion trends without putting a dent in your wallet. You can find lots of flirty summer skirts & dress and some of the best heeled sandals in the collection.

Anyways, here are a few of my Walmart pieces that are currently on rotation and I'm going to add a few more that caught my eye lately. Check them out and let me know what you think.

t-shirt dress / wedge sandals

This Free Assembly t-shirt dress is perfect to wear now with some sandals and a cute straw hat on a hot summer day.  And later as we transition into the cooler fall season. Just add a denim jacket and some booties and you are good to go. This t-shirt dress is made from 100% organic cotton and it's a little thicker than your average t-shirt material. This dress fits true to size and I'm wearing a medium.  

tiered maxi dress / wedge sandals

This Free Assembly maxi dress is so well made and you can't beat the price. Unfortunately this dress is currently sold out, but various sizes tend to pop back up from time to time. So keep your eye out for it. This one fits true to size and I'm wearing a small. 

color block dress / wedge sandals

This Scoop color block trapeze sundress is one of my favorite purchases this summer. The cut of this dress is timeless and the sherbet colors just scream ready for fun. It's a light and airy dress that's perfect to wear with these $20 Scoop espadrille wedge sandal. Just add this cute cowboy hat to complete the look. This dress fits true to size - I'm wearing a small.

v-neck shirttail dress / wedge sandals

This Time and Tru double v-neck shirttail dress is so versatile and easy to wear this summer.  It has a lightweight cotton material that is very comfortable. I think this would look so cute paired up with a denim jacket tied around the waist with a cute straw hat or add a blazer to dress it up a little more.  I think this dress runs a little big - I'm wearing a small. 

flutter sleeve t-shirt dress / wedge sandals

This Time and Tru flutter sleeve tiered dress is perfect to throw on for any just about any occasion this summer.  It's a simple lightweight dress that's super comfortable.  It comes in about 7 different colors and it runs a little big. I'm wearing medium here, but I could have sized down to a small.
