Fresh Picks to Follow: The Oversized Clutch

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.  I had a relaxing weekend at home and I’m looking forward to having a relaxing week.  I took off this week from work to spend some time at home.  I really just needed a break and needed some time to get my life back in order.  I’ve been so behind with everything.  I plan to run many errands this week and spend some time with my family and friends.  I can’t wait!

I’m so sorry that this week’s Fresh Pick to Follow is a little late.  I feel like I sound like a broken record these days.  I hope that my little staycation will help me get back on track this Friday.  Anyways, I wanted to highlight the oversized clutch for this week’s Fresh Pick to Follow.  The oversized clutch definitely makes a stylish statement.  It is a great way to add a pop of color to any outfit. I don’t own one of these clutches yet, but I sure do love the look of them.  I’ve always said that the regular clutches are a little too small.  I just worry that the oversized one would be too big.  This trend is everywhere these days.  I’ve seen them all over the fashions magazines, the retail stores, and on some of my favorite bloggers.   Do any of you own an oversized clutch?  What do you think about this trend?  Check out my top 10 oversized clutches.

October Wish List – Top 3

OMG ladies…I don’t know about you, but I’m loving the new items at Anthropologie this month.  There are a ton of things that I want from Anthro, but I was able to limit my list to 3 items.  And they are all dresses. I have one overall favorite that I think I’m going to have to break down and buy - it's the Veiled Alder Dress.   I love everything about this dress, the look, the color and the cut.  Have any of you tried on this dress yet?  I tried on the dress and some other beautiful pieces over the weekend and I will post my reviews very soon.   Anyways, here are my top 3 items from Anthropologie for the month of October.  What are your must have items this month?  Let me know!

Fresh Picks to Follow: Breast Cancer Awareness

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope that you all are looking forward to the weekend.  I just realized earlier today that I haven’t posted anything yet for the month.  So, here it is – finally.  I’m sorry that I’m a little behind.  Lately, my job has been consuming most of my free time.  I’m so excited that it’s October – this month is one of my favorites.  When I was younger, I grew up in New Jersey.  What I loved about October in Jersey was the fall weather, watching the leaves change colors, picking fresh apples, Halloween and my sister’s birthday.  Autumn in Florida was definitely adjustment from my life in Jersey.  Fall usually gets started in Florida sometime in October.  So now that October is here, I’m looking forward to running more outdoors, watching more football, hanging out with my sister for her birthday and breaking out my fall wardrobe.  Are you looking forward to any fun activities this month?

Anyways, I wanted to focus this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow on an issue that touches so many people’s lives.   As many of you know, the month of October is designated as breast cancer awareness month.
One thing I wanted to do is bring your attention to a few organizations that promote breast cancer awareness and research 365 days out of the year.  The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.  Susan G. Komen for the Cure is a global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested more than $1 billion since inception in 1982.  Men Against Breast Cancer (MABC) is the first national non-profit that provide national support services to educate and empower men to be effective care givers and helping men cope with the impact of a loved one's breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.  National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) organization is comprised of several national public service organizations, professional medical associations, and government agencies working in partnership to build breast cancer awareness, share information and provide access to screening services.  And lastly, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is an organization that is focused on saving lives by increasing awareness of breast cancer through education and by providing mammograms for those in need.

I currently work part-time for a retailer that donates a portion of the sale proceeds on certain products towards breast cancer research.  It’s wonderful to work for a company that is dedicated to helping the community and bringing awareness to this cause.  Today, I wanted to highlight some major retailers that also do the same.  Check out my top 10 breast cancer awareness products for this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow.  Do you plan to work with any organizations to promote breast cancer awareness this month?  Let me know.
