Fall Color Trail
I know that posting pictures of fall trees may be a little late for some northerners, but for some of us in the south fall is just getting started. Earlier this month I went to Alabama with my BF to attend a wedding. I was looking forward to going to Alabama because I was hopeful that I was going to see some beautiful fall trees. And Alabama did not disappoint. I wanted to share some of my pictures the fall foliage so here they are.
My Black Friday Shopping Bag
Hi everyone - I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday weekend with your family and friends. I had a fantastic Thanksgiving with my family, but I had to leave the dinner a little early this year. I had head back home so I could rest up to squeeze in a little shopping before I headed off to work. I woke up pretty early Friday morning and I braved the crowds to head out to a few stores to grab some goodies. I had plans to go to Anthropologie, Target, Banana Republic and the Coach Factory outlet store.
Friday morning, I woke up and got ready to make my first stop at Anthropologie – shocker I know. I couldn’t resist the 50% off discount on sale items – how great was that sale? I got to the store right at 6:05am and I was pretty surprised to see how many people were already in the store when I arrived. They opened at 6am. The sale area looked like an angry female mob scene who were pushing their way through several racks of clothes. All the while, the women were pretty polite and pleasant. There was no need for mace or tug-o-war over a shirt. Some women just grabbed items in their sizes and headed straight to the registers to check out. Other women took a little more time and waited patiently to try to go through everything. There was a long line to the dressing room and the line to check out took about 30 to 40 minutes – which was not too bad considering this event. I used that time to check out my iPhone to make sure I didn’t miss anything on Anthro’s website. Anyways, here is a peek of my Black Friday haul. Fresh Picks to Follow: Hats, Gloves & Scarves
I think that with the dropping temperatures in November and December approaching, cold weather accessories are mandatory. Since I lived up north for several years, I acquired a pretty large collection of hats, scarves and gloves. However, I don’t really get to use my accessories that much because the cold weather in Florida doesn’t last very long. The winter months only last for about 3 months from December to February. Lately, the weather here has been unseasonably warm, but Florida is getting ready for a cold snap later this week. I can’t wait. I’m going to start pulling out my collection this weekend.
My favorite cold weather accessory is a nice thick and woolly scarf. I think that scarves are a basic necessity in the cooler months. A scarf will keep your neck warm from falling snow and from the cold air on a windy day. I love them because they come in so many textures, lengths, patterns and colors. And they are an inexpensive way to change the look of your wardrobe and a great way to add your personal style to your winter coat. Some of my favorite scarf trends include infinity or loop scarves, cowl neck scarves and snoods.
To complete the cold weather look, you’ll also need to grab a trusty hat and gloves to keep you warm. There are different styles of hats to choose from this winter anywhere from a wool fedora to a simple knit beenie.
