Fresh Picks to Follow – Animal Farm

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope that you all have a great weekend planned for yourselves. I’m so excited for this weekend because I don’t have to go to work on Monday.  Are any of you off from work this Monday?  I’m really looking forward to getting some sleep this weekend.  I always feel like I’m playing catch up each weekend.  I also plan to run a 10k tomorrow morning.  It’s supposed to be about 40 degrees when I wake up, so wish me luck.  I’m seriously going to freeze.  I plan to finally tinker with my new camera/take some pictures.

Over the years, I’m sure that most of you have noticed that several retailers have focused on selling a variety of animal prints for the fall/winter season.  Of course, we are all familiar with the typical leopard, snakeskin, zebra and sometime cow prints on many articles of clothing and accessories.  I personally love theses look and own many pieces.  However, I’m not sure about how I feel about the actual animals displayed all over my clothes.  I looked over my wardrobe and I realized that I don’t have many pieces besides the occasional bird or butterfly motifs on my clothes.  I remember several years ago that J. Crew had embroidered critters on their chino shorts/pants, belts and polo’s.  And I wasn’t sure about the critter-wear look either.

Anyways, I went to Anthropologie after work today and noticed that my store still has a number of the Fire Ants Maxi Dress for sale.  I just wondered how many people out there own this dress or any of the many other animal prints out there.  What are your thoughts about this trend?  Do you have some clothing covered in animals?  What’s your favorite piece?  Here are 10 critter friendly ideas for the ladies that love their clothing printed with animals.

Fancy Tights

Hi everyone.  Have you all been by Anthropologie lately?  I’m really trying to be good and slow down my shopping. However, it’s very hard to say no when Anthro has some great sales. Anyways, last Friday I popped into Anthro and tried on a ton of clothes, but only left the store with some fancy tights.  I picked up the three amazing pairs seen below and I can’t wait to wear them.  I wanted to try something a little different and bold to add some spark to my wardrobe. I wear a lot of suits and basics throughout the week and my look is pretty boring most days.  Basically my work attire is very conservative.  I figured that I could jazz things up a bit with some fancy patterned tights under some of my suits and dresses.  The only tights that I wear now are mostly black, grey and brown.  So I thought to myself that some textured/pattern tights would be a great way to come out of my comfort zone.  My next adventure will be to grab a pair of colored tights – you know, something that really pops! Do you have any favorite patterned or colored tights?  Let me know!

January Wish List – Top 3

I went to Anthropologie on Friday evening and tried on a few dresses that I L-U-V.  I plan to post some new fitting room reviews very soon, so stay tuned.  Have any of you gone to Anthro lately to check out some of the new arrivals?  I saw a handful of the items from the January 2012 catalog, but the one dress I wanted to try on was not in my store yet.  Does anyone else love the Bike Lane Dress?  I think it looks super cute.  This one would have made it on to my top 3 if I were able to see it in person.  I’ve already added this dress on my wish list.  My store has not gotten the Bike Lane Dress yet.  Anyways, here are my top 3 items from Anthropologie for the month of January. What are your must have items this month?  Let me know!
