{one} running.  i mentioned last week that i was going to run in a 5k last thursday.  the race was great, but it was extremely sunny and humid.  the weather threw me for a loop because it was a lot warmer than i expected since the race began at 6:30pm.  during the race, i felt like i was dying from heat exhaustion.  there was also only one station to get water, which was like torture.  anyways, despite the setback of the extremely warm weather, my time for this race was 30:57 and i finished 289 out of 1668 women runners.  overall there were 1328 male finishers, 1668 female finishers and 2996 total finishers. i’m pretty pleased with myself.  i’m finally on a role now with running races and training for races.  i already signed up for another 5k race scheduled for this saturday morning.  this race is a women’s only race, which should be an interesting change of pace.   i’ll tell you all about it later.
{two} drop 10 challenge.  last night i signed up for self magazine’s drop 10 challenge.  the website has great tips on losing weight and how to get you to slim down your body.  the website is complete with daily menus, workout plans, and a food and workout log to track your progress.  check it out if you’re like me and you just want to get bathing suit ready for the summer.  oh and another great perk is that enrolling in the challenge makes you eligible for a dream vacation in the

Turn Off the Lights.  Turn off the lights when they are not in use.  I know my co-workers in my office must think that I’m crazy, because I turn off the lights in the office all of the time. It drives me nuts when people leave the office for the day, and the lights are still on.  I think that it’s really it important to conserve electricity - think how much money you can save.
happy monday everyone – i’ve added my random ramblings to carissa’s miscellany monday party!  check out carissa’s blog here and join in on the fun.
{two} running.  i’m running another 5k on thursday evening and i can’t wait.  i’m extremely happy that the race is in the evening, so it shouldn’t be so hot outside.  i hope that i can bring my time down just a little.  i usually run a 10 minute mile, but i would like to shave off at least 5 minutes.
{one - thursday} fashion show.  i went to my first professional fashion show last thursday called runway to dignity 2011.  and it was fabulous.  my boss had 2 tickets to the event, but was unable to attend.  so, she asked me and one of my co-workers if we would like to go in her place.  i couldn’t say yes fast enough.  we left work a little early to head to
{two - friday} jazz’d.  after work on friday, i went to savannah, ga to visit my bf and to attend a baby shower for one of my former classmates.  the bf and i went to jazz’d tapas bar located on 52 barnard st. in savannah, ga.  i’ve gone to jazz’d for drinks only, but never for the tapas.  finally, i had to opportunity to eat some of the restaurant’s amazing tapas for the first time and boy were they delicious.  my three favorites were the southern crab cakes, coconut shrimp and shrimp fritters.  if you are ever in savannah, check out jazz’d (here).
{five - monday} taxes. have you filed you taxes yet?  i just e-filed mine a few hours ago.  what a way to wait until the last minute – eh?  i always seem to do that.  don’t forget to file your income taxes – the deadline this year it april 18th.
