I'm Going to BlogHer 2014

Ever since I started blogging in 2010, I’ve always been curious about attending a blogger conference.  Have any of you attended a blogger conference before?  For the past few years, I continued to hear about one conference more frequently over other well-known conferences.  I’m talking about BlogHer, a cross-platform media network and publisher for women.  I've read numerous posts from previous BlogHer conference attendees and I’ve seen some notable photos of the conference sessions and legendary parties.  Each time I read a reference about the BlogHer conferences, I've made a mental note to add it on my “to do” list.
Well last month, I finally decided to register for the 10th Annual BlogHer Conference in San Jose, CA from July 24 -26, 2014.  I’m pretty excited about attending my first blogger conference because it is one of the largest events for bloggers and social media influencers in the nation.  They also have some outstanding keynote speakers lined up this year such as Arianna Huffington, Kerry Washington, Jenny Lawson, Tig Notaro, the 10x10 presenters, and the Voices of the Year.

I'm Going to BlogHer '14!Although I’m excited, I also have a little anxiety because I’m not sure what to expect.  I think my main issue is that as of right now I don’t know anyone else attending, so I’m hoping that I don’t regret my decision.  I have to remind myself of the main reasons why I signed up.  I hope that I’ll gain some helpful tips to enhance my blog, learn some general information to share with my readers and to meet some amazing new bloggers!

I wanted to share the agenda for BlogHer '14 with you in case any of you may be interested!  Please check it out.  To register for BlogHer '14, please visit: http://blogher14.eventbrite.com.

Are any of you going to BlogHer this year?  Let me know. I’d love to meet you. Also, if you have any advice for a BlogHer newbie, please leave a comment below…I’m all ears.

Traveling Mood: New York, NY

I took a quick trip New York this past weekend to support and celebrate my aunt’s retirement from her nursing career.  I’m so proud of her and her accomplishments.  I can only hope and pray that I will be able to retire when I get older.  My aunt has been a nurse for over 30+ years and she’s finally going to start taking it easy, which is well overdue.  She is very excited about retiring because she has big plans for the future.  One of her plans that I love is that she wants to become a tourist in her own city.  She’s lived in Staten Island for years but she doesn’t know Manhattan and some of the other boroughs.  I can’t wait to hear about some of her adventures.  Even though I’ve been to NY many times, I still enjoy doing some of the touristy things in the city especially around the holidays. Do you have any favorite things to do in New York?  Let me know in the comments!  Some of you may have seen a few pictures on Instagram, but here are more pictures from this weekend below.

What I did in New, York:

Took the Staten Island Ferry to the City

Visited the 9/11 Memorial

Shopped at the J.Crew Sample Sale

Went to Rockefeller Center/Christmas Tree
Strolled thru the Grand Central Terminal; Enjoyed some snow flurries
Attended my aunt’s retirement party with my sister at Rex Manor Catering Hall, Brooklyn, NY
Delayed at Newark and Chicago Midway Airports due to snow.

Moody Style: A Versatile Shift

This week’s work schedule has been pretty crazy so far.  I’m scheduled to be in two different cities, but in two separate states all within the same week.  On a regular it’s not unusual for me to be in multiple cities within a work week, but what’s unusual is multiple states.  I’m truly happy with my job and I love all of the opportunities that I’ve had to visit different parts of the state of Florida.  Earlier this week, I had the unique opportunity to travel to Dallas, TX for meetings with some of my team members.   I haven’t been able to do or see too much here, since my supervisor has us under a pretty full itinerary for this trip.  If you follow me on Instagram, I’ll be sharing some pictures of my experiences while on my quick trip.  So, I say a quick trips because I’m only here in the big D for a couple of days and then I’ll be headed back to Miami, FL for the rest of the week for some more work.  Hopefully I can squeeze out a little fun while I’m there too.

A quick note about this color block shift dress.  I found it at Anthropologie for $29.95 a few months ago.  I know that this dress came out earlier this year, but I think it’s a pretty versatile dress.  Do you have any dresses that you can wear year long?  Let me know in the comments.
