Moody Style: Black and White

Hope that you all are having a good week so far.  I’ve been super busy at work lately and I haven’t had a chance to post in a while.  So, I’m taking a quick break right now to share this outfit.  Sorry that I’m keeping this post pretty brief.  I’ll try to write much more next time.  All the best!

Current Mood – Top 3

It’s been a while since I’ve posted my top 3 items from Anthropologie, but it’s finally back. I don’t know about you, but I haven’t been shopping in the store as frequently as I had in the past.  There were a few months that I just wasn’t inspired by the clothes that they offered.  There were a few pieces that caught my eye here and there, but that was about it – until now.  I’ve been pulled back into the Anthro fold after receiving the May Lookbook in the mail.  I don’t know if it’s the anticipation of the summer season or the store has stepped up their game a little bit.  Whatever it is I’m in love with the store again. I’m also loving the collaboration between Anthropologie and BaubleBar.  How pretty is this Seastone Necklace? Anyways, here are my top 3 items from Anthropologie that I love this month. Do any of you have any favorites that you can’t live without this month?  What’s on your wish list?  Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Neon Fiesta

Happy Monday and Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!  I hope that you all had a fabulous weekend.  Did any of you have any plans today for Cinco de Mayo? My plans only involved going to Cantina Laredo and eating great food and lots of chip and guacamole.  So after work, I made sure I worked out for about 2 hours so I wouldn’t feel so guilty about all of the food I planned to eat.  But all of my working out didn’t really help.  I still felt a little guilty afterwards.  I know that I’ll be running off my food at some point tomorrow afternoon.  So how did you spend Cinco de Mayo? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Hump Day!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!   So most of you know that I travel pretty extensively for my job, so I’m hardly ever home.  When I do get the pleasure of being home and sleeping in my own bed, it’s a real treat. I’m pretty happy because I am home today and don’t have to travel again until next Tuesday.  So I’m pretty happy about this hump day and the rest of my week at home.  Do you have any plans that you're looking forward to this weekend? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Late to the Party

I know that I’m a little late to the party posting about the Peter Pilotto collection for Target, but it’s better late than never right? Well I don’t know about you, but I wasn’t one of the thousands of people that went to a Target store to shop this collection the morning it launched.  I figured that I would wait until the collection went on sale and find at least something from the leftovers.  When I first tried on some of the pieces in the collection, I wasn't a big fan mostly because of the sizing and cut of the items. But this dress worked out perfectly for me.  When I bought it last month, I was able to snag this dress for 30% off the original price. Which was great at the time.  Now that I look back on my purchase, I realize it’s not a huge victory considering the rest of the collection is now 50% off the original price.  Oh well, I have to look on the bright side.  If I waited too long, then I probably wouldn’t have found my size, right?  Anyways, if any of you are still looking for any pieces from this Target collaboration, then click here and shop Peter Pilotto for Target now.  Did any of you jump on the bandwagon with the Peter Pilotto collection for Target?  What was your favorite piece from the collection? Let me know in the comments.

Happy Earth Day 2014

Happy Earth Day everyone!  I just wanted to write a quick post to remind you all to take a little time to do something good for the planet today and every other day!

Here are 5 quick and easy ways to celebrate Earth Day:

1. Plant a tree or a garden
2. Use reusable bags
3. Pick up litter
4. Take shorter showers
5. Carpool, walk or ride a bike

Which one of these will you do? What else would you suggest? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Easter Traditions

I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter weekend.  Did any of you have any special plans?  I wish that I had something planned for Easter this year, but all I ended up doing was working most of the day.  I did however make it to the first church service at 7:30am.  Where there were surprisingly tons of families with little children dressed in their Sunday best.   After seeing all of those families in church this morning, I was a little nostalgic for those Easter traditions my family had while I was growing up.

Our family traditions involved getting Easter baskets with the obligatory chocolate bunny, jelly beans and crazy colored grass, dying eggs, hunting eggs filled with chocolate foiled wrapped eggs, dressing up in fancy dresses for church and eating a family dinner together.  As my sisters and I got a little older, the traditions tapered off to just attending church and family dinners.  Now that everyone in my family is working and off doing their own thing, we barely get together for Easter anymore.

I know that things never really stay the same, but it would be nice to get some of the old traditions back.  I guess this is something that I need to work on for next Easter.  I hope you and your family enjoyed your holidays and holiday traditions.  Is Easter a big holiday for your family or do you keep it small? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: My Second Home

If you follow me on Instagram, then you may know that I’m back in Miami again.  I swear lately I feel like Miami is becoming my second home.  I flew in this morning on a 6:00am flight for work and I’m pretty sure I’ll never do that again.  I’m not sure what I was thinking about when I booked the flight - I’m beyond exhausted right now.  I’m looking forward to catching up on some sleep tonight and starting over tomorrow to make sure that I have productive week.  During my personal time, I plan to explore different parts of Miami and share some of my personal little adventures with you all.  So, be sure to check out my Instagram feed for the most up to date posts (here).  I’m more likely to posts there than on my blog this week.  I’m slowly working on trying to get a system going where I post on my blog and Twitter/Instagram equally, but I’m failing miserably.  Does anyone have a schedule or ideas that’s working for you regarding posting to all of your social media outlets?  I’d love to get any pointers if you’re willing to share.  Just let me know in the comments.

I’m loving everything about this silk-collar tee that I’m wearing here.  It’s a perfet tee to dress up or down. I haven’t worn it with a skirt yet, but that’s sure to come soon.  Here are the full details of my outfit of the day.   Do any of you have this tee?  How do you plan to style it?

Moody Style: Dot, Dot, Dot

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.   I’m in Miami right now where the weather is almost 90 degrees today.  So I feel pretty silly posting a picture of this polka dot number, but it’s still going to happen nonetheless.  This is another picture that I never had a chance to post from last week when we a couple random days of cold weather.  I grabbed this sweater during the J.Crew sample sale that I went to in December and shortly after I found these little polka dot shoes after Christmas from Banana Republic.  When my sister first showed me these shoes can you believe that I told her that I didn’t need them?  I know right.  I’m so glad that I snagged them.  Thanks so much C!  Do you have any purchases that you were on the fence about and now you’re glad that you bought it?  Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Bejeweled

I never had a chance to post this outfit from last week when we had a couple of random cold weather days.  I am super happy that I finally had a chance to wear this bejeweled sweater at least once since I bought it last month.  I was pretty obsessed for a few weeks about tracking one of these down to add to my wardrobe.  By the time that I found it, the weather started to warm up dramatically.  I figured that I bought it too late and tucked it away for next season...until last week.  So when some people complained about the change in the weather, I said to myself, “bring it on.”  I couldn’t have been more pleased.  Silly I know.  Sometimes it’s little silly things like this that makes me smile.  Have you ever had this happen to you?  Do you have any items that you haven’t been able to wear yet or that you can’t wait to wear?  Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: Lady In Red

I can’t believe that today is the last day of March.  Seriously, where does the time go??

One of my all time favorite colors that I love to wear is red.  I know it’s not everyone’s favorite, but it really works for me. I feel more powerful and confident when I wear it and the complients don’t hurt either.  I’ve been obsessing over finding the right pair of red heels to add to my wardrobe.  I love the ones that Lisa wears over at Respect the Shoes (see here), but unfortunately they are sold out.  So, when I found these lovelies I didn’t hesitate.  The best part about this find was that they were on sale for only $14!  I love those kinds of shopping days.  Do any of you have a go-to color that you wear often?  Let me know in the comments.

I'm Going to BlogHer 2014

Ever since I started blogging in 2010, I’ve always been curious about attending a blogger conference.  Have any of you attended a blogger conference before?  For the past few years, I continued to hear about one conference more frequently over other well-known conferences.  I’m talking about BlogHer, a cross-platform media network and publisher for women.  I've read numerous posts from previous BlogHer conference attendees and I’ve seen some notable photos of the conference sessions and legendary parties.  Each time I read a reference about the BlogHer conferences, I've made a mental note to add it on my “to do” list.
Well last month, I finally decided to register for the 10th Annual BlogHer Conference in San Jose, CA from July 24 -26, 2014.  I’m pretty excited about attending my first blogger conference because it is one of the largest events for bloggers and social media influencers in the nation.  They also have some outstanding keynote speakers lined up this year such as Arianna Huffington, Kerry Washington, Jenny Lawson, Tig Notaro, the 10x10 presenters, and the Voices of the Year.

I'm Going to BlogHer '14!Although I’m excited, I also have a little anxiety because I’m not sure what to expect.  I think my main issue is that as of right now I don’t know anyone else attending, so I’m hoping that I don’t regret my decision.  I have to remind myself of the main reasons why I signed up.  I hope that I’ll gain some helpful tips to enhance my blog, learn some general information to share with my readers and to meet some amazing new bloggers!

I wanted to share the agenda for BlogHer '14 with you in case any of you may be interested!  Please check it out.  To register for BlogHer '14, please visit: http://blogher14.eventbrite.com.

Are any of you going to BlogHer this year?  Let me know. I’d love to meet you. Also, if you have any advice for a BlogHer newbie, please leave a comment below…I’m all ears.

Moody Style: Ready for Spring?

Happy Hump Day everyone!  Are you guys ready for Spring?  I am.  I know that some of my fellow bloggers and readers that live in the Midwest and up north on the East Coast have been ready for a couple of months now.  I’m very lucky to live in a warm weather state.  And for the most party it’s relatively warm or really hot most of the year.  However, we have some occasional cold days that come out of nowhere.  The weather is cold (cold for us southerners is anything below 50 and some may say under 70) for a few days and then go back to being really warm afterwards.  I know some of you may be thinking that you don’t see a problem.  And in the grand scheme of things it’s not a problem at all.  I’m just ready for the warm weather to stay and the cooler weather to go away for good.  I’m ready to wear outfits like this without having to grab a jacket or sweater when I leave the house.  I’m ready to wear lots of pastels and light fabrics.  And I’m ready to put away some of my cold weather pieces until next fall and winter.  What are you all ready for this Spring? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Style: School of Fish

Do you ever feel like you’re always going with the flow? Instead of swimming against the current and making waves, I’ve been following along like a school of fish.  And I'm not happy about it.  After a little me time and some planning, I’ve decided that some things in my life need to change.  Over the next few months, you all will start to see some of those changes on my blog. I’m excited about some of the changes I have in store for myself and I can’t wait to share them with you all.  I’ve been traveling like a crazy person today that I almost forgot to post my full outfit from a few days ago. So I’m going to keep this post short and sweet.  Enjoy the pics!
