Moody Style: Dreamy and Drapey

Hiya everyone!  I’ve been a little behind with everything in my life and unfortunately my little blog has been taking the backseat.  Recently, one of my co-workers left my office and instead of hiring a replacement, the management team decided to double my workload. I’ve been working a ton more hours lately, so by the time I get home from work all I want to do is shower, eat and go to bed.  My only sanity these days have been my races and working out at the gym.  I’m hoping that things will look up soon for me.  There is one bright side to me being exhausted, I’ve been able to sleep and dream of a better, happier tomorrow.  Have any of you taken on extra responsibilities at work in the past several months? How do you handle your stress from work?

Fresh Picks to Follow – The Highs and the Lows

I know that many of you have seen this trend on some of your favorite fashion bloggers as well as seen them in fashion magazines and the retail stores.  What trend am I talking about?  I’m talking about the high-low trend that is sweeping the nation this spring and it’s already in the works for this summer.  You can spot this trend out by looking for a shorter cut hemline in the front and a longer, flowy cut in the back. This trend is found mostly in skirts, dresses and sometimes shirts.  Personally, I’m not sure how I feel about this new high-low trend, but I’m willing to give it a try. Check out my top 10 high-low pieces for this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow.  What do you all think about this trend? Are you willing to give it a try?  Let me know!

Office Chic No. 1: The Perfect Blazer

One of my must haves for the basic wardrobe essentials for any office environment is the perfect blazer.   A versatile, well-made blazer is an easy way to dress up any outfit and create a more polished look.  Blazers are always available in a variety of styles, colors and fabrics and they can be used through out the year.  As I’ve mentioned before, I wear a lot of suits to work, but there are some days when I don’t want to have the same look as my colleagues.  For an alternative look, I like to break up the suit and create new outfits.  One of my favorite options is pairing a bold, colorful blazer with a pair of suiting pants or a skirt.  And when I can’t think of anything to wear, I always grab a blazer to change the look of my outfit.  A perfect blazer can take you from day to night if it’s paired with the right accessories like a statement necklace or a colorful scarf.  I also think that every wardrobe should have a basic black blazer.  I recommend finding a classic style that flatters your shape. A black blazer can take you anywhere you want to go and it will never go out of style.   So ladies, go out and find a well-tailored blazer for the perfect office chic look.  Do you have a favorite blazer in your closet?  Let me know.
