Moody Style: A Sunny Climate

Hi everyone!  I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend and that you are off to a great start so far this week.   I just wanted to post a few pictures of one of the outfits that I wore while visiting Savannah.  Can you believe that this was the first time that I wore the dress?  I don’t know it took me so long to wear it before now.  I really love how bright and cheery the dress makes me look.  It’s a pretty, feminine dress perfect for the summer.  And I think that the little birds all over the yellow skirt really adds a little something extra to the look.  Did any of you buy this dress last year? What do you think about this dress?

Travel: Savannah Getaway

Last weekend, my sisters and I took our mother to Savannah for a pre-Mother’s day weekend getaway.  My mother had been dying to go there for years now, so we decided that last weekend would be the best time because of our schedules.  My mother’s sole purpose of going to Savannah was to visit Paula Dean’s restaurant, Lady and Sons.  We had so many things on our agenda for the weekend it was hard to imagine that we would get it all done.  We bought tickets for one of the trolley tours and saw most of the historic highlights; we went to River Street, checked out several restaurants like Huey’s, Salt Water Grill and Zunzi’s.  We also checked out the 31st Annual SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival and of course we hit up Broughton Street and Bull Street for some shopping.  Here are some pictures of the weekend – Enjoy!

Fresh Picks to Follow – Cinco de Mayo Style

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone!  I’m not sure about you guys, but I enjoy celebrating the holiday with great family and friends.  In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is a day of drinking Coronas, downing tequila shots and eating lots of chips and salsa. But, there is a little bit of history behind this wonderful holiday.  Do any of you know some of the facts? According to Britannica Online Encyclopedia, Cinco de Mayo is also known as the Anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, national holiday in Mexico in honor of a military victory in 1862 over the French forces of Napoleon III.  The day is celebrated heavily in Mexico with speeches, parades and reenactments of the Battle of Puebla. For more detailed information, take a peak at the Britannica website.

Anyways, I’ve pulled together a list of some Cinco de Mayo inspired clothing to wear to your upcoming fiesta. Check out my top 10 Cinco de Mayo inspired pieces for this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow.  How do you plan to celebrate the holiday? Let me know!
