In The Mood – J.Crew New Arrivals (August 2017)

With all of the talk about the #NSale lately, I almost forgot about J.Crew’s new arrivals for the month of August.  And you guys – these pieces are really good – just think lots of camo and khaki’s.  If you remember checking out my previous post about J.Crew’s fall collection during New York Fashion Week, then you’ll remember that you’re in store for some amazing pieces.  It’s hard to believe that fall pieces are slowly making their way to the store shelves, but the cooler weather will be here before we know it.  So we might as well start wardrobe planning early. Are any of you ready for fall yet?

Anyways, I plan to take a quick trip to my store later this afternoon to try on some of the new arrivals and I can’t wait. I’m really hoping to try on this Camouflage Patch-Pocket Pant, this Camouflage Utility Shirt-Jacket and this Ruffle-Hem Utility Dress. Have you all checked out the new arrivals yet? Moody Picks: Shop the Nordstrom Sale on a Budget (Under $50)

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to the public and everyone can now shop the sale. I’m sure most of you have been waiting anxiously to get started or maybe your part of the group that isn't shopping because you think that everything is just way too expensive. Whatever category you’re in, just know that you don’t have to spend your whole paycheck to enjoy the deals.  The Anniversary Sale offers a little something for everyone and you can have fun shopping even on a budget. I have a few tips for you to help you stay on track and not go into debt in the process. Check out my tips below and shop my top picks of what's left all under $50.

1. INVEST IN FALL BASICS

This is the best time to stock up on basic and timeless pieces that you’ll be able to mix and match to create multiple looks. These basics include transitional pieces that you can wear now in the summer and then later in the fall season. For example, short sleeve tops that can be layered under a cardigan or a slipdress that can be worn with a light jacket.  You can also look fall trend pieces like boots, button-down plaids or even a moto jacket.  Even though they are considered trendy, these are quintesstial fall wardrobe staples.  So think about what items you need right now? Do you need to update your closet? Do you need new t-shirts or layering long-sleeve tees? Do you need new jeans? Do you need new flats or booties?  If you’re on a budget, then you should focus on filling your closet with these key pieces instead of the trendy or more expensive pieces.

2. STOCK UP ON FALL ACCESSORIES

If you’re not interested in buying any new clothes or shoes right now, then consider stocking up on a few accessories to help update your fall wardrobe. The Anniversary Sale has so many great pieces to choose from right now whether it's hats, handbags, scarves or any other cold weather staple. Also during this sale, Nordstrom usually offers limited-edition or exclusive deals that they created with various beauty brands that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.  With some of these deals you get the most bang for your buck when you shop the sale.
