Fresh Picks to Follow: Hats, Gloves & Scarves

I think that with the dropping temperatures in November and December approaching, cold weather accessories are mandatory. Since I lived up north for several years, I acquired a pretty large collection of hats, scarves and gloves. However, I don’t really get to use my accessories that much because the cold weather in Florida doesn’t last very long. The winter months only last for about 3 months from December to February. Lately, the weather here has been unseasonably warm, but Florida is getting ready for a cold snap later this week. I can’t wait.  I’m going to start pulling out my collection this weekend.

My favorite cold weather accessory is a nice thick and woolly scarf.  I think that scarves are a basic necessity in the cooler months. A scarf will keep your neck warm from falling snow and from the cold air on a windy day.  I love them because they come in so many textures, lengths, patterns and colors.  And they are an inexpensive way to change the look of your wardrobe and a great way to add your personal style to your winter coat.  Some of my favorite scarf trends include infinity or loop scarves, cowl neck scarves and snoods.

To complete the cold weather look, you’ll also need to grab a trusty hat and gloves to keep you warm. There are different styles of hats to choose from this winter anywhere from a wool fedora to a simple knit beenie. Also, adding a pair of gloves that pop with color is a perfect way to show your personality. Here are my top 10 hats, gloves and scarves items for this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow.  What’s your favorite cold weather accessory for winter? Let me know!

Grateful

Via
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I’m getting ready to make my 3 hour drive to my aunt’s house for Thanksgiving dinner.  I’m looking forward to seeing all of my aunts, uncles and cousins because we have so much fun when we’re together.  My family is full of talented singers and musicians, so there is always lots of singing and dancing going on before and after dinner.  We also play at least one game after dinner like Deal or No Deal, Trivia Pursuit or Pictionary. I have so much to be thankful for this year and I am grateful that I get to celebrate this day with my family.  What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving?

My New Laptop

I'm back everyone and I have a new computer.  Ever since my Dell computer died last Sunday, I was pretty sure that I was going to get a new computer.  In the last year, my Dell has crashed on me several times.  I have lost so many pictures and documents that I can't even count them all.  Needless to say, I'm beyond annoyed and frustrated.  The people at Dell tried to work on reinstalling Windows on my computer, but the hard drive was compromised.  My only option was to buy a new hard drive or get a new computer.  I thought about the price of buying a new hard drive versus a new computer, but my computer's history of crashes left me pretty certain with my decision.  So, I opted for getting a new computer.  I went to Best Buy last night to price a handful of computers.  I played with several laptops, but I kept making my way back to the Apple section.  I have always wanted to get an Apple laptop, but it didn't make sense to get one as long as my Dell was working.  After talking to the Apple representative, I bit the bullet and bought a MacBook Pro.  I'm really loving it.  I felt like a little girl at Christmas playing with all my new toys.  I'm still trying to figure everything out and learn more about my laptop.  I plan to get back to posting very soon.  I just wanted to give you all an update.  Do any of you have an Apple computer?  Let me know what is your favorite feature.

So Frustrated!

I'm super frustrated today. My computer crashed late Sunday night as I was getting ready to post last Friday's Fresh Picks to Follow. I was in the process of trying to repair the software but my computer is apparently beyond repair. This is the third time this has happened to me while I've had this blog. It stinks because I lose some of my draft posts and tons of pictures. So, I have decided that I'll have to get a new computer ASAP. I will keep you all updated.

OOTD: Seraphim

Hello everyone…sorry for the delay with this post.  I will be a little out of pocket this weekend because I’ll be traveling out of town.  I’m going to northern Alabama for a wedding with my BF.  I’m excited because I’ve never been to Alabama before.  I’m not sure if I’ll have enough time to see or do anything since my BF is part of the wedding party.  The one thing that I’m looking forward to seeing is Alabama’s fall foliage.  I don’t get to see a lot of that in Florida.  Autumn is my favorite season of the year, but it’s just not the same living in Florida.  I hope to have some colorful picture to share with you all later.

Anyways, I wanted to highlight my seraphim necklace from Anthropologie.  I love this necklace so much because of all of the colors in it.  The splash of colors sort of reminds me of the changing of the leaves.  The necklace has reddish orange, gold, peach, brown colors and it goes with a majority of my outfits.   Do you have a go to necklace that goes with everything?  Let me know!

Dress: Anthropologie Tiny Windows Dress
Belt: Anthropologie Looping Lanes Belt
Earrings: Banana Republic Earrings (old)
Necklace: Anthropologie Seraphim Necklace
Shoes: Ann Taylor Loft Flats (old)
