In The Mood: 5 Tips For Shopping The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale

Happy Friyay Friends! If you're a Lilly Pulitzer lover, then you’re probably getting super excited and prepped for the After Party Sale. I just wanted to put together a quick guide of some of my favorite tips and tricks for shopping the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale. I’ve shopped the sale a few times already and these tips have been super helpful in the past. I also want to share a few of my favorite pieces right now that I’m really hoping are part of the sale. Keeping my fingers crossed.

1. MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW:

The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale begins around 8AM ET on Monday, September 10, 2018 and ends on September 12, 2018 at 11:59 PM ET.  Get excited ladies because that’s three whole days of amazing sales. Lilly Pulitzer only offers this sale twice a year, so you can see why everyone makes a big deal about it.

2. CREATE AN ACCOUNT + ENTER CREDIT CARD INFO:

If you don't have a Lilly Pulitzer account set up yet, then head over to the website now to create an account. And if you already have an account set up, then be sure to log in to make sure that your shipping, billing, payment information is correct.  Also get familiar with LillyPulitzer.com because they made a few changes to make it even easier for you to shop. PRO TIP: During the sale, even if an item is in your cart, it isn’t 

reserved… meaning anyone else can grab it! If you set up your account 

ahead of time, then you'll save a ton of checkout time and increase 

your chances of getting everything in your cart.

3. SHOP EARLY AT A LILLY STORE NEAR YOU:

I’m not sure if Lilly Pulitzer has done this before, but this year they are offering early access shopping parties in all of their store locations before the online sale gets started. Head to your Lilly store on Saturday, September 8th or Sunday, September 9th to get early access and purchase sale items in-store before they’re available online.  It's also important to know your sizes at Lilly Pulitzer. You may want to check out a local store to try on a few things so you know how things are going to fit. Or you can just use the Fit Predictor on the website to determine your size.

4. Use MULTIPLE DEVICES:

Once you enter the Lilly Pulitzer site, you are placed in the virtual line. It’s important to note that no matter how high you’re number in the line is, that you do not refresh your browser. You will loose your place in line and will be moved to the very back of the line. I also wanted to let you know that you can only check out once during that session. After you check out, then you’re placed back at the end of the line. During the last sale, I used my cell phone, my iPad and my laptop to get placed in the virtual line. I was able to get a few of my favorites early because of this strategy. If you’re desperately looking for a certain item, then I highly recommend using multiple devices.  You can also ask your friends/family/husband to get in on the fun to help you.

5. SHOP SMART AND SHOP often:

It’s important to have an idea of what items you want to buy beforehand because all sales are final. Try not to buy something just to buy it because it’s on sale. I’ve fallen into that trap before and have been stuck with a few items that didn’t fit or I just didn’t like it when it arrived. Also, set a budget for the day to prevent overspending. It’s so easy to get carried away and keep shopping, so trust me when I say set a budget.  It has helped me a ton!

As I mentioned earlier, the items in your cart are not reserved, so anyone can buy them. If you really want one of the pieces in your cart, then you should check out immediately since the shipping is free. Items can disappear from your cart as quickly as you add them to it, so complete the sale to prevent yourself from missing out on that special item. Just know you can go back and place as many orders as you want.  So you can check back throughout the day to see if new items get added to the sale.
