Nordstrom Anniversary Outfits Ideas and What I Bought

Happy Monday! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to the next level of cardholders and I'll finally be to shop today.  I'm sharing a few of the items that I bought already and some that are on my wishlist.  I also put together a few outfit ideas for you if you're thinking about grabbing anything during the sale. If you are still waiting to shop the sale, then you can save some of these items to your wishlist.  It makes it super easy for you to stay organized and add everything to your cart for check out.  And don't worry if you see that some things are sold out, some items may get restocked or eventually returned from other customers.  I hope that you have fun shopping the sale and that you're able to get everything on your list.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 - My Top 5 Picks & Try-on Haul

Good morning friends! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here for all cardholders and you finally get to shop the sale you’ve been hearing about for a few weeks now! This is the best time to stock up on closet staples and items that you will need during the fall season.  My favorite part of the sale is that you save a bunch of money on some items that never go on sale like any of the Barefoot Dreams throws and cardigans and Spanx Faux Leather Leggings. The only thing that I don’t love about the sale is that so many item sell out super FAST! So if you see something that catches your eye or if you’re on the fence about an item, then just grab it now and return it later!

Anyways, I wanted to put together a quick post that would be both helpful and informative for you instead of listing a bunch of items that you just don’t need. Below is a list of my top picks from the sale. These are items that will last you more than just the season and you can wear some of them now and transition well into fall/winter.  I have some of these pieces from last year and I'm very happy to say that I didn't need to buy too many items this year.  

Here are my TOP 5 PICKS from the sale: 

1. Pleated Midi Skirt - A beautiful staple piece that is very well made and fits perfectly (already sold out, but I found a cute amazon dupe HERE).

2. Barefoot Dreams In the Wild Throw - This throw never goes on sale, so this is the best time to buy one.  It's super soft, comfortable and worth the splurge.  I just bought one yesterday for the first time because I've alway wanted one.

3. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings - These are the best leggings out there and definitely the most popular.  These leggings rarely go on sale, so this is the best time to buy them. I bought my first pair last year and they really are worth the money.  They suck you in just at the right places.

4. Leopard Cardigan - I bought this sweater earlier this year and it sold out then.  So I was pretty happy to see them bring it back for the sale This will sell out pretty quickly during the sale because it's comfortable, the print is perfect and the price is under $50.

5. Booties - Every blogger has raved about these booties since the sale got started.  I ordered myself a pair because it looks like a really well made bootie.  I love the cut out style and the heel is pretty reasonable.  It comes in several other colors and even a couple snakeskin prints.  I'm pretty sure it will sell out as well.

Next up is the try-on haul.  Yesterday, I stopped by the Nordstrom store at St. Johns Town Center to shop and I put together a fun styling session for you all.  I found a few items that I love and created a few outfits around those specific pieces.  I wanted to share you how you could wear certain pieces serval ways to get more bang for your buck.  Unfortunately my store doesn’t have a huge inventory, but I was able to create a few different looks with the items that were available. I picked out this skirt because of the print of course and because of its versatility.  This is a skirt that you can definitely wear now and then continue to add layers to take you into the fall and winter season. I'm wearing a small in the skirt and it fits true to size.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE – 10-INCH HIGH WAIST SKINNY JEANS(BUTTON FRONT)

I missed out on these jeans last year, so I had to grab them.  I wanted to get a really good pair of jeans during the sale and this one does not disappoint.  It fits true to size - I'm wearing a 28 in these.  I have heard that it stretches out pretty easily and that you need to size down.  So if you're worried about that, then size down.  I love the style of these jeans - the high waist and button front is right up my alley.  They are also under $100.

NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE – LACE TRIM SATIN CAMISOLE TOP

This lace cami will probably sell out pretty quickly.  It's such a cute piece that you can wear alone with jeans or under a cardigan or blazer for work.  It comes in several colors and has adjustable straps. The price point is also good since it's only $25. I'm wearing a small in the camisole.

Good Morning Friends! I'm sure by now that you've already heard more than you need to know about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! And you're going to hear a lot more since we still have a few more days until Early Access starts. As I mentioned before, Early Access officially starts on Friday, July 12th at 12:30 pm EST and Public Access starts on Friday, July 19th. 

I've had a couple of weeks to preview the catalog and there are so many things that I'm loving right now.  I seriously can't wait to see the entire sale once it goes live on Friday especially since the catalog is a small portion of the items that will be available.  I've heard that there are over 10,000+ pieces included in the sale this year, so get ready to be wowed.  Anyways, I thought it would be fun to put together a quick post of some of my top favorite picks from the catalog along with a few sneak peeks.

In The Mood: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2019 - What You Need To Know

Hey Friends - it’s that time again! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is almost here and I’m getting super excited.  This sale is like Christmas in July because you get so many great deals on brand new fall/winter items for up to 40% off.  This is the best time to stock up on some of your favorite fall basics and splurge-worthy pieces like boots, jackets, handbags and high-end denim. And you get major discounts on brands like SPANX, Sam Edelman, Tory Burch, Free People, NARS, North Face and so much more!  Just like last year, I want to give you all a quick run-down of all of the details that you need to know to be fully prepared to shop without any hassles.

DATES YOU NEED TO KNOW

July 9 – Nordy Club Icons Shop In-Store

HOW TO SHOP EARLY ACCESS

The best way to shop the sale before everything sells out is making sure that you have Early Access.  Nordstrom Cardholders get to shop the sale a week earlier than everyone else.  And this is key takeaway because most of the best sellers are sold out within a matter of days.  So, if you want to shop early, then you will need to apply for a Nordstrom Credit Card.

If you don’t already have a Nordstrom Credit Card, then you will need to sign up here for the early access. And if you apply for the Nordstrom Card before July 10th, then you will get a $60 bonus note that can be used at a later time. 

SHOPPING STRATEGY

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale can be very overwhelming, especially if you don’t have a plan in place.  I think number one thing that you should do is to assess your fall wardrobe and make a list of items that you need to add/replace in your closet. And the second thing you need to do is to set an overall budget for yourself and really try to spend too much money.  It’s super easy to get swept up in the excitement of the sale, believe me I know.  I’ve bought and returned a plenty of items in the past that weren’t within my budget and that I ultimately didn’t need.  Pro Tip: Buy Now, Return Later - With that being said, don’t be afraid to order multiples sizes since some items sell out really fast and the shipping/return is free.  Be sure to focus on items that you use regularly and take advantage of stocking up on wardrobe basics and any home items.  This is also a good time to start thinking of holiday gifts.

WHAT SHOULD I BUY?

I’ve been shopping the Anniversary Sale for a few years now and I’ve noticed that Nordstrom tends to bring back some of the same items.  They may tweek an item here and there, but for the most part some are the same like these High-waisted Zella Leggings, this super soft Plush Throw, the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings and this Madewell Ryder Cardigan.  This year I plan to be very focused on things that I need to replace in my closet and a few items that I missed out on last year.  I plan to look for a really good pair of jeans, a couple of sweaters, basic t-shirts, a skirt and a couple of shoes.  I also plan to pick up a few beauty items and the infamous Barefoot Dreams In the Wild Throw because I've wanted one for a while now and it never goes on sale.

How to Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - Five Tips!

Hey guys…well it’s almost that time again.  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is just around the corner and it’s the best time to stock up on high-quality, reasonably prices staples for the upcoming fall season.  Here are 5 helpful tips to help you get ready for this one of a kind sale!

Tip #1 ~ Know the Dates: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale officially starts on Thursday, July 21st and it ends on Monday, August 7th.  However, if you are a Nordstrom cardholder, then Early Access starts on Thursday, July 13th.  Cardholders get to shop the sale exclusively for a week and then the sale opens up to the general public on July 21st.

Tip #2 ~ Sign Up for the Nordstrom Rewards Program: You can join Nordstrom Rewards Program without applying for a credit card and Nordstrom will give you a $10 Note to spend at Anniversary Sale.  With the Nordstrom Rewards program you will earn 1 point for every $1 spent (instead of the 2 points per $1 you get with the card) when you use cash or any card you want.  You get to use the Note during the regular sale period (July 21st-August 7th).  You must join Nordstrom Rewards as a Member by 11:59pm (Pacific Time) on July 9, 2017 and verify your mobile number to get this offer. Sign up for the rewards program HERE NOW! 

Tip #3 ~ Get a Nordstrom Card ASAP: The only way to get into the Early Access Sale is to have a Nordstrom credit or debit card. I for one I’m pretty happy that they offer these two options. I personally chose to open a Nordstrom Debit Card because I don’t have to worry about paying off another credit card bill.  The Nordstrom Debit card links to your checking account, so it’s just like using your debit card, but you get to earn rewards points instead.  When you open a Nordstrom Card, you’ll get  a $20 Nordstrom Note for earning 2 points per dollar at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, HauteLook and Trunk Club. Tip #4 ~ Start Planning and Review the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog: Whether you plan to shop the sale early or when it opens to the public, one thing that you should do is start planning early.  If you’re anything like me, then you’re going to want to buy just about everything that you see in the store or online during the sale.  But don’t worry, there are few things you can do to avoid over spending.  First take inventory of your closet to see what items you need to replaced or added to your fall wardrobe.  Then think about what wardrobe staples that you want to add to your closet, like a pair of new boots, a new leather jacket or a new investment handbag.  And finally check out the Anniversary Sale Catalog that Nordstrom released last week to start planning ahead.  The catalog will give you some great ideas of what’s in store for us over the next few weeks.  And make a list of the things that your interested in buying, so you don’t forget when you get to the store. This is also the time to create a wishlist of certain items if the price is right, like a new Rebecca Minkoff crossbody or a pair of designer jeans.

Tip #5 ~ Set a Budget and Stick to It: Another way to avoid over spending is to set a budget of how much you want to spend and stick to it.  Don’t go into debt trying to keep up with everyone else.  It’s very easy to lose control and pick up a few more items that you didn’t plan to buy, but it’s important to remember that Nordstrom has a very generous return policy.  So you don’t have to be worry about returning some items that don’t end up working out after a few weeks.

In The Mood: Guide To Shopping The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

We are only a few days away from one of my favorite sales of the year - the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. 

WHAT’S THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE?

I have to admit, two years ago I didn’t really understand all of the fuss over the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but now I’m completely hooked. 

The Anniversary sale is Nordstrom’s biggest sale that they offer only once a year.  They add brand new fall styles to their inventory and mark it down for a limited time.  So you can shop for next season’s on-trend fashion picks right now for seriously discounted prices.  

The prices at the Anniversary Sale are typically the lowest we will see on select items from brands like Rebecca Minkoff, Rag & Bone, Joie, Treasure & Bond, Zella, Nike and so many more.  And once these items sell out, they are generally gone because Nordstrom will only stock a limited quantities for the sale.

WHEN CAN I SHOP?

The Anniversary Sale officially starts July 22nd and it ends on August 7th.  However, if you are a Nordstrom cardholder, you can shop the sale early from  July 14th through July 21st.

Not a Nordstrom cardholder? If you don’t want to miss out on some good deals, then I highly suggest you register for one now. You have the option of choosing between opening up a Nordstrom credit card or opening up a Nordstrom debit card. I love this sale because it’s the best time to start thinking about my fall wardrobe.  Here are five things I’m hoping to add to my closet this fall: a lightweight jacket or sweater coat, a pair of over-the-knee boots, a classic pair of skinny jeans, a neutral handbag and a timeless piece of jewelry.  Can't wait to start shopping!
