Moody Style: Cowl Neck Dress

I wore this cute bodycon dress last month during my last trip to Savannah, GA.  The weather was exceptionally warm when I took these, so I didn’t dare add any layers for fear that I would overheat. I’m pretty sure that the temperature was in the high 90s and really humid.  Anyway, some of you may remember that I bought this dress during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I’m super happy I did. This cowl neck dress is just the perfect dress to throw on when I want to feel a little flirty and sexy.  It will also transition into the fall season with ease.  I completed this look with my favorite chic lace-up heels and my trusty leopard clutch.  And once the weather cools down, I plan to add some booties like this pair or this pair for a complete fall look along with this faux leather jacket or a long cardigan. I can't wait for the fall weather to finally make it down here to Florida!

Do any of you have a favorite dress that can tranistion from summer to fall?  Let me know in the comments! Happy Friday Eve friends and thanks for stopping by!

Moody Style: Now and Later

Happy Friday Eve! I hope that you all are having a great week so far.  I’ve been traveling for work since Sunday and I still have one more day to go, so needless to say I’m ready for the weekend.  I’m also ready for a vacation.  I realized earlier today that I haven’t taken a real vacation this summer yet.  I’ve gone on mini trips here and there, but nothing like a true vacation where I’m sitting on a beach soaking up the rays or exploring a new city.  Hopefully, I’ll get something planned soon, so stay tuned.

The sleeveless cowl neck shift dress that I’m wearing was one of the first pieces that I wore from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  This dress is so easy to wear now by itself in the summertime with some cute sandals and accessories.  And it will transition perfectly later into the fall season.  Just add some booties and a denim or utility jacket and you’re ready for cooler weather.  A few weeks ago, I packed this dress to visit my sister out of town for the weekend.  This dress is so soft and lightweight, that it was easy to add to my luggage.  I decided to wear this dress to church because it’s comfortable and it’s a versatile piece that you don’t have to think about.  When I originally saw this casual dress online, I didn’t hesitate to order it right away.  I had a feeling it was going to be a flattering dress and I wasn’t disappointed.  The cowl neck has just the right amount of draping to it without make you feel too constricted like a turtleneck.  And this dress has pockets, which automatically made it one of my go to dresses for rest of the summer.  Did any of you get this dress during the #nsale?  If you didn’t you should still think about it.  The price isn’t bad at $38 and it comes in about 9 colors that include solid and stripe options to choose from as well.

Moody Picks: #NSale Best of Home Décor

The best sale of the year is slowly coming to an end.  I know that it’s hard to believe, but you only have one day left to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I just realized that I’ve shared so many of my favorite fall clothing items from the sale, that I neglected to share some of my favorite home décor items. So I just took a moment to look thru Nordstrom's website one last time before the sale is over and I found 18 of the best of what’s left of the home décor section. There are so many great hostess gifts and decor items at affordable prices! If you want to update your home, just pick some fabulous prints, a soft and fuzzy throw blanket and some amazing scented candles! Check our my picks below and start shopping now because all of these prices will go back up tomorrow.

Moody Picks: #NSale Best of What’s Left

I’m not sure if you all are still shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but I’m constantly online looking for restocked items. There are still a few items I’m hoping to get before the sale ends, so I’m literally on the website at least 3 times a day.  I’m really hoping my items pop up during the final week of the sale. I knew that items were going to sell out fast, but I had no idea that they wouldn’t be restocked as promised by a few sales associates.  Although I’m a little disappointed that I’ve missed out on some items, I’m happy to report that there are few of my favorites that are still in stock.   I’ve picked out the best of what’s left of the sale based on the sizes and/or colors available and they are all under $200.00  Check them out below and let me know what items you’re hoping to still buy before the sale ends.

In The Mood: My Nordstrom Anniversary Purchases

Happy Friday everyone! Today  is the day!  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is officially open to the public.  I’m sure most of you know that this sale is the best time to stock up on some great fall essentials.  If you’ve had your eye on a particular item, there’s 3 reasons why you shouldn’t hesitate to add it to your shopping bag.  First, Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns, so if you’re on the fence about an item or it doesn’t fit correctly, just return it – pretty simple.  Second, your size and favorite colors are selling out fast.  Hopefully, Nordstrom will continue to restock their inventory, so don’t give up if your item is no longer available. I’m definitely keeping my fingers crossed for a few items to pop back up that are still on my wishlist.   And finally, the sale ends on August 7th and the prices will go back up on August 8th.  The only thing worse than seeing an item that got away is seeing it get away at a higher price point.  Don’t let this happen to you ;)

I wanted to share with you a  few of the things I’ve bought so far and most of them are still in stock online.  I’m anxiously waiting for my items to arrive, so I’ll start taking pictures of everything when they get here.  Check out my shopping bag and let me know what are some of your favorite #NSale picks so far.  Are you planning on shopping the sale this year?  Have you bought anything yet?  Let me know in the comments below!

Moody Style: #NSale Fitting Room Reviews

Happy Sunday sweet friends!

So, I may have gone a little overboard with my shopping at this year’s Anniversary Sale, but I can't say I'm sorry about it.  I truly love everything I've bought so far.  Notice that I said so far…it’s a problem.  I’ve been to the store twice already and I’ve bought a few things online as well.  And I'm pretty sure I’ll be stopping by the store after church to try on a few more things I've had my eye on.  I keep finding new things that I “have” to have.  Have you guys bought anything yet?  What are some of the things that you’re loving from the sale right now?

Anyways, here are my fitting room reviews for some of my favorite items from the sale.  I’m also going to include a few things that I bought, but didn’t have a chance to take a picture of them.

Let me know what you think in the comments below! And check out my #NSale Must-Haves HERE.

Comfortable and super soft t-shirt.  I love the brand and I’m considering
getting the Kale one too.  The tee runs true to size.  I’m wearing a small.

This relaxed cross front t-shirt definitely came home with me.  I fell in love with the fit and style
of this top and you won’t believe how soft it is.  This top runs true to size and comes in several other colors.

I can’t get enough of stripes lately, so I naturally gravitated towards this top.  You’ll probably get sick of seeing it on me because you’ll be seeing it on everyone else.  This shirt is pretty versatile and it will look great with jeans or leggings and it’s on sale right now for $17.90.  This one also fits true to size and I’m wearing a small here.

This swing tank is just the cutest.  I love the crisscross neckline and the lace details.  And it run true to size – I’m wearing a medium.

These jeans are my new favorite right now.  I wanted to get similar jeans that I’ve seen on other bloggers like this one, but I never pulled the trigger.  So once I saw these, I knew I had to get them. They are super comfy especially for the price and there is just the right amount of distressing.  These jeans fit perfectly in my normal size.  They are a little tight on my thighs, but that pretty standard for me and every jeans I own.
Cute knit tank that has horizontal stripes on the front and back of the tank.  It also has a looser swingy fit that I think would be flattering for most sizes and ages.  I’m wearing a small in the rust color and it fits true to size.

Love this tunic!  It fits true to size and would look great with some leggings and boots.  And although it’s a sweater
tunic, it’s not a heavy weight, so it will be perfect for fall.

These jeans are on my wishlist right now because I’ve bought way too much so far.  These jeans are true to
size, but I may have to try on a size down in case they stretch out.  One thing that I did love is that the jeans really hug my
curves and it makes my booty look tight.

I’m definitely going to get a lot of use out of this dress.  This is another favorite of mine.   This body-conscious dress is a perfect foundation piece for so many layered looks.  This dress runs a little small, but it just depends on how tight you want your dress to look on you.  I’m wearing a medium here.

This dress is prefect for transitioning into fall, and you can also wear it now.  It comes in 3 colors and it runs true to size.  It will look great with some booties or sandals.  I'm wearing a small here.

BP. Frayed Denim Shift Dress
I really wanted this chambray dress to work out for me, but it didn’t.  I found that it ran true
to size and I’m wearing a small here.  However, I don’t think it flattered me in any way.

This classic shirtdress comes in 3 colors and it fits true to size.  I’m wearing the small here.  Although this dress fit me fine, I’m still on the fence about it.  Maybe it was the colorway?  I do however think that this dress will be great for the fall naturally because of the plaid pattern.  I also think it will look great with some over the knee boots or even worn as a long jacket with some jeans.
