In the Mood: Shopbop Event of the Season

SALE ALERT!!!

I’m sure that you’ve heard by now that Shopbop’s Event of the Season started yesterday.  If you spend up to $500, you get 25% off your entire purchase. Or if you spend over $500, you get 30% off your entire purchase. Just use the code MAINEVENT16.  And you don’t have much time to shop because the sale ends tomorrow night - October 14th at 11:59pm PT.

Right now is the best time to stock up on some wardrobe staples and even get a head start on your Christmas shopping especially on those higher priced items! So far I’ve only bought this Turtleneck Sweater Dress and this Lace Up Sweater.  But I still have my eye on a few items like the Clare V. leopard clutch,  this pretty lace top, the best 2017 planner and this Rebecca Minkoff satchel.  Who knows, I may still do some more shopping before the sale ends.  I guess I’ll see what’s leftover tomorrow night since things are selling out FAST.

Anyways, check out some of my favorite picks below and let me know if you plan on adding anything new to your closet. Happy shopping!!!

Moody Style: Now and Later

Happy Friday Eve! I hope that you all are having a great week so far.  I’ve been traveling for work since Sunday and I still have one more day to go, so needless to say I’m ready for the weekend.  I’m also ready for a vacation.  I realized earlier today that I haven’t taken a real vacation this summer yet.  I’ve gone on mini trips here and there, but nothing like a true vacation where I’m sitting on a beach soaking up the rays or exploring a new city.  Hopefully, I’ll get something planned soon, so stay tuned.

The sleeveless cowl neck shift dress that I’m wearing was one of the first pieces that I wore from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  This dress is so easy to wear now by itself in the summertime with some cute sandals and accessories.  And it will transition perfectly later into the fall season.  Just add some booties and a denim or utility jacket and you’re ready for cooler weather.  A few weeks ago, I packed this dress to visit my sister out of town for the weekend.  This dress is so soft and lightweight, that it was easy to add to my luggage.  I decided to wear this dress to church because it’s comfortable and it’s a versatile piece that you don’t have to think about.  When I originally saw this casual dress online, I didn’t hesitate to order it right away.  I had a feeling it was going to be a flattering dress and I wasn’t disappointed.  The cowl neck has just the right amount of draping to it without make you feel too constricted like a turtleneck.  And this dress has pockets, which automatically made it one of my go to dresses for rest of the summer.  Did any of you get this dress during the #nsale?  If you didn’t you should still think about it.  The price isn’t bad at $38 and it comes in about 9 colors that include solid and stripe options to choose from as well.

Moody Style: Blue Stripes

Happy Monday and First Day of Summer! I hope you all had a great weekend.  My weekend was pretty low-key  which I don’t get too many of those lately. So it was a welcomed change. Saturday I went to the gym in the morning and stayed home for the rest of the day.  After church yesterday, I drove to my parent’s house to celebrate Father’s Day by eating tons of food and watching t.v.  It was a perfect Father’s Day for my dad.  Did you all do anything special for Father’s Day?

Here’s another fabulous Old Navy find from a couple months ago.  I love everything about this dress – the fit, the length, the lightweight fabric and even the price.  If this dress came in a few other colors or prints, I would probably grab a couple more of them.  Unfortunatey, this print is sold out online, but they do have the same dress in a similar blue stripe print.  The dress is on sale for only $20 and Old Navy is offering 40% off your purchase online today only when you use the code: JUNE40.   I’m sure you’ll find some great looks when you check out their new arrivals too.

Moody Style: Navy Florals

I have to confess…I'm a sucker for a midi skirt. It’s the perfect ladylike and classic shape that flatters every figure and you can wear them for just about every occasion and season.  I got this midi skirt from SheInside and it's even more gorgeous in person and so well made. Every woman needs to add this piece to her closet or at least another fun midi skirt from SheInside.  They offer so many beautiful pieces and the prices are reasonable.

There are so many possibilities with this skirt especially now that Spring is just around corner.  I definitely plan to swap out this sweater for a white or striped t-shirt to make this outfit a little springier. Hopefully, you all won’t get sick of seeing this floral print because I’ll be wearing it a lot over the next few months. Happy Wednesday everyone!

Moody Picks – Leopard is a Neutral

Jenna Lyons definitely got it right when she said, “As far as I'm concerned leopard is a neutral."  Like Jenna, I take my leopard in small doses and I believe leopard print shoes are the easiest way to liven up an outfit.  I’ve always loved the look of leopard print and as a result this print is slowly taking over my shoe collection.  One can never have too many shoes right?  Well, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite leopard shoes from this season that will be sure to add a little flair to your life.  Are you looking to add a touch of leopard to your wardrobe?  What’s your favorite way to add leopard to your outfits?
