Fresh Picks to Follow: Butterfly Lover

Hi everyone - I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend planned.  Each week gets a little tricky to come up with a Fresh Picks to Follow that I haven’t used before.  Despite this hurdle, I’m up to the challenge.  Since I’ve reached my one year anniversary, I figure that I can change things up a little bit on my blog.  If any of you have suggestions for weekly topics, please send them my way.  I would really appreciate it.  I mentioned before in one of my reviews that my sister loves butterflies, so this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow is dedicated to her.  Do you have any clothing with a butterfly print.  What do you think about butterflies on your clothing?

OOTD: Speechless

Hi everyone - I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend planned.  I’m looking forward to relaxing and productive weekend.  I plan to reorganize my home office and desk, go for a couple of long runs, create some birthday cards and break out the sewing machine.  I know, it sounds like lots of fun, but I’m looking forward to it.  I’ve had my sewing machine for over a year, but never tried to use it.  I’m going to try to teach myself to sew.  So, we’ll see how that goes.

I wanted to briefly address the Anthroholic scandal that has taken over the Anthro blogging community recently.  I’m deeply saddened to learn about everything that’s transpired over the past week.  Frankly, I’m still a little shocked that all of this has happened.  If you haven’t heard all of the details yet, check out this post here from JG at Stuff Jewish Girls Like for a recap of the events.  I never used Anthroholic’s personal service and I’m sure glad that I never needed to use it.  My heart goes out to the ladies that were victims of this seemingly elaborate scam.  My only hope is that the victims affected will get their money back real soon.  This whole situation just sucks.  Roxy from Effortless Anthropologie provided an informative post here with tips and resources to protect ourselves from any future scams.  I really hope that the blogging community can learn a valuable lesson from this ordeal.

Anyways, here is my OOTD.  And I hope that you have a fabulous weekend!

OOTD: Decade by Decade

Hello everyone…I don’t know about you all, but I went a little overboard with yesterday’s Anthro sale.   I’ll post my shopping bag soon.  Did buy anything from this week’s sale or do you plan to sit this sale out?

I mentioned a couple of months ago that I bought this skirt from Anthro during the Tag Sale.  Unfortunately, I haven’t worn it until now because I struggled a little bit with styling it.  This skirt just hung in my closet because I was looking for the right top to wear with it.  I know that the trend right now is pattern mixing and it looks really cool on so many people.  I even toyed with the thought of pattern mixing myself.  Especially after seeing several bloggers wear this skirt with a striped tops like Jinah from bonjour it’s jinah and Anjali from Goldenmeans.  Even the Anthro photo added below paired the skirt with a checkered shirt.  Despite seeing the pattern mixing trend in full force, I didn’t think that I could pull it off at work.  So, I played it safe in today’s OOTD.  Do you have any suggestions for additional looks for work?  What do you all think about pattern mixing?

Shirt: Ann Taylor Loft Tee
Skirt: Anthropologie Decade by Decade Skirt
Sweater: Anthropologie Climate Control Cardi
Earrings: Coach Pave Stud Earrings (similar here)
Necklace: Ann Taylor Loft Necklace (gifted)

What do you all think about this look?  Would you wear this look?
