Fresh Picks to Follow – Winter Boots

Hi everyone...Happy Friday.  I’m so happy that it’s the weekend.  I know I only had a four day work week, but it was really hard getting back after a long break.  I really had trouble this week trying to think of today’s topic until I did a little shopping after work.  After a quick visits to Anthropologie, I ended up in the shoe section at the local Dillard’s department store.  I immediately fell in love with a pair of Vince Camuto boots called the Beaus Chocolate.  Love them! These boots are a real beauty and they kind of remind me of a pair I wanted last year (can’t think of the name or the brand right now).  As I checked out several other boots in the store, I realized that I seriously need to update my boot collection. There are so many different styles to choose from this winter and I have been missing out. I had to pull out a couple of my boots this week because the extreme cold weather here in Florida.  A couple of my knee-high boots that I have are pretty old, I mean 5-6 years old.  There in great condition on the outside, but they are not comfortable at all.  In fact I wore a pair today and my feet are still recovering as I write this post.  Anyways, I plan on upgrading real soon, so I’ll let you know all about it when that happens.  Well, here are my top ten favorite boots for the rest of the winter season.  Do you have a pair of winter boots that you can’t live without?  How many pairs of boots do you own? Let me know.

2012: New Year’s Resolutions!

Have you made your New Year's Resolutions yet? I am a huge believer in creating goals for yourself, both long term and short term.  I think that setting some goals gives you the building blocks to help you achieve the things that are most important to you.  My list last year was pretty short and I really thought that I would achieve everything on the list. However, one year later I must admit that I didn’t complete every single task.  I’ve added some of the same goals from last year and added a few more.  Here’s my 12 New Year’s Resolutions for 2012:

  1. Spend more time with my family and friends.
  2. Go to church every Sunday.
  3. Train for a half–marathon and improve my overall time.
  4. Learn how to use my DSLR camera and enroll in a photography class.
  5. Learn how to sew.
  6. Save money, budget and pay down some debt.
  7. Travel.
  8. Read more books.
  9. Get more sleep.
  10. Continue to write, learn and explore with Moody Girl In Style!
  11. Donate more of my time.
  12. Take a deep breath and relax.
What’s on your list? If you need a little inspiration or a jump-start for ideas, please visit this New Year’s resolution generator (here).

2011: Year in Review OOTD

Happy New Year!!!! I meant to post this yesterday, but I didn’t have a chance.  Everyone is doing these year-end retrospectives…so I'm going to jump on the bandwagon too. I can't believe 2011 is over. Looking back over the past year, I’ve had a pretty interesting and fun year thus far.  Earlier in the year, I reignited my love for running and entered in a ton of races around town.  I’ve improved my time, but suffered a minor injury late in the year.  I’m getting ready to train again for another half marathon and I hope to complete it in less than 2 hours. I got an iPhone and I still can’t believe that I went this long without one.  My computer crashed and I lost everything, but I was able to get a MacBook Pro (a computer I’ve wanted for a few years now).  There haven’t been too many changes in 2011, so I’m hoping that 2012 will bring around some major changes in my personal life.

Anyways, I was inspired by Rosa at Love at First Shop to put together a collection of my favorite outfits from 2011.  It’s a great way to see what outfits worked and didn’t work for me.  During this project, I realized that I don’t take nearly as much pictures of myself as I thought I did.  So, I have to step it up this year and post a lot more pictures of myself.  Since I only have a few pictures for some months, I decided to pick out one outfit for each month of the year.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of my readers for sticking with me throughout the year.  It’s been great getting to know other fellow bloggers.  Happy New Year everyone…I hope that this year brings you the hope, love and prosperity that you deserve. Thanks for reading!!!

Moody Style: All Wrapped Up

I just wanted to share a quick picture of an outfit that I wore a couple of weeks ago.  I’m a big fan of wrap dresses and I have several of them from Banana Republic so far.  Last week I posted that I wanted the Gemma dress from BR in a bluish purple color for Christmas.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get it yet.  I’ll have to track it down in the stores or just buy it online before they are all gone.  My wrap dresses are my go to dress when I can’t figure out what to wear to work.  There are so many ways to accessorize this dress any where from adding tights, boots or just adding a blazer.  Do you have a favorite dress that you can’t live without?  What’s your go to item in your closet?  Let me know.

Dress: Banana Republic Faux Wrap Dress;
Necklace: Coach Miranda Pearl and Gold Chain Necklace (old);
Shoes: Ralph Lauren Zabrina Heels
