September Wish List – Top 3

I haven’t gotten my catalog from Anthropologie for this month yet, but I was able to check it out online along with the new arrivals.  I was pleasantly surprised by all of the clothes that I found this time around.  There are so many pieces that I want right now, but I think it’s because I’m ready for some cooler weather. However, I’m going to have to wait a couple months before I start seeing any weather change here in Florida.  Fall is my all time favorite season, so I can’t wait until I can wear some of these amazing clothes.  Anyways, here are my top 3 items from Anthropologie for the month of September. Do any of you have any favorites that you can’t live without this month?  What’s on the top of your wish list?

Fresh Picks to Follow – Brake for Brocade

I hope that you all are having a great weekend.  I’ve just been relaxing at home and hanging out with friends, but I sure wish I were in New York City for Fashion Week.  I can’t wait to see all of the fashion trends slated for spring 2013.  Have any of you checked out the “Live From the Runway” feature on YouTube? You can watch your favorite designers live or watch the replay.  I guess in the meantime, I’ll focus on all of fashion trends for the fall season.  There are enough of them to keep us busy.  This week I’m going to focus on the Brocade trend. Brocade is also known as “embossed cloth” and is traditionally woven on a draw loom.  This trend involves very ornate and richly embellished woven fabrics.  This fall, fashion designers like Marni, Jason Wu and Proenza Schouler, have created everything from metallic jacquard dress to foil brocade shorts.  These designers have taken this intricately complex pattern and added a modern twist to this traditional trend.  For this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow, here are my top 10 ways to incorporate lavish brocade fabrics in your closet.  What do you think about this trend?  Let me know in the comments.

1. BB Dakota - Classic Stunner Dress in Brocade…$99.99
2. Stella McCartney - Brocade Platform Pump…$830.00
3. Alice + Olivia - Pleated Brocade Dress…$495.00
4. Zara – Brocade Trousers…$59.90
5. J. Crew - Ella Dress in Floral Brocade...$188.00
6. RED Valentino - Metallic Brocade Shorts…$320.00
7. Jason Wu - Little Emperor Brocade Loafer…$690.00
8. ASOS - Premium Midi Bell Skirt…$68.98
9. Marni - Floral Cotton-blend Brocade Top…$950.00
10. J. Brand - 811 Mid-Rise Skinny Leg…$242.00

Moody Style: Bright Poppies

Happy Hump Day! Even though I had to work on Monday, I still took some time to head to the mall to indulge in some of the great deals on Labor Day. I tried not to get in too much trouble myself because let’s face it - I’ve got enough clothes.  And that’s a huge understatement.  I actually went through my closet this weekend to figure out what I no longer needed and what I could no longer fit into anymore.  Right now I have 2 big bags of clothes ready to drop off at a local Goodwill or Salvation Army.  I also have a smaller bag of clothes that I’m considering selling on my blog in the future.  I haven’t figured that part out yet, but I’ll definitely let you all know when I do.  Anyways, this outfit is all I bought on Monday.  I love the bright colorful poppy blooms and I’m looking forward to the many outfits I can create because of its versatility.   Did any of you go shopping this weekend?  Did you guys get some goodies at Anthropologie with the extra 25% off savings? What about shopping at J. Crew with the surprise extra 30% off savings? I'd love to hear all about it in the comments.
