Moody Style: A Vest and a Scarf

Hiya luvs - I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend.  And for those of you that were off today, I hope that you are enjoyed the Columbus Day holiday.  I’m one of the lucky ones that had the day off today.  I originally planned to make a trip over to the mall and do a little shopping, but I decided to take it easy at home.  Instead, I cleaned up my apartment, got caught up on some shows that I missed last week and wrote up a few future posts for the blog.

I also noticed that I haven’t shared an outfit post in a while, so naturally I had to share this one today. Do you ever feel like you’ve hit the jackpot with a classic piece of clothing or accessory?  Well, that’s how I feel about my Old Navy utility vest and my blanket scarves that I bought last year.  My utility vest can really be worn throughout the year with the right pieces of course and it’s a definite must-have in the fall.   And my blanket scarves can add a touch of warmth and coziness to any fall and winter outfit.  In the pictures below, I’m wearing a cute stripe sweater dress with a utility vest in one picture and a blanket scarf in the other.  And I'm loving how both of these pieces just complete both looks.  Now that I have both of my favorites pieces on hand, I’m definitely ready for cooler temperatures this fall. Do you have any pieces that you can't live without? Let me know in the comments.

Moody Monday – Plaid Scarves

Over the past few years, plaid blanket scarves have become so popular that they are now considered a fall essential.  I don’t know about you, but I’m counting down the days that I get cozy up in one of these once the weather finally gets cooler.  I’m sure that many have seen some of your favorite bloggers rocking old Zara blanket scarves and you may have been trying to track them down. Well have no fear; there are plenty of online stores that carry a perfect replica of the real thing.  So I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite older and newer plaid scarves for you in case you want to add them to your wardrobe.  Most of them are blanket or oversized scarves and most are under $50.  Check them out below and let me know what you think.  Also if you have a chance, check out my Pinterest page for additional blanket scarves. Will you be rocking a plaid blanket scarf this year? Moody Picks – Plaid Blanket Scarf

As many of you know the blanket scarf trend is getting more popular and literally getting bigger each year.  Check out Burberry’s much larger blanket scarf/coat here – isn’t it fabulous?  I know that many of us missed out last year on ZARA’s infamous sold-out camel plaid blanket scarf (seen on AP here).  Many of us took to eBay in droves to track down any duplicate we could find to satisfy that immediate need.  This year ZARA came out with 3 more blanket scarves patterns that are already sold out online - which I’m not surprised. I’m secretly hoping that they will restock each of them at least one more time before the end of the year. If you are like me, some of you have been searching high and low for the perfect blanket scarf to add to your wardrobe this season.  Well, fret no more, I’ve done some of the research for you.  Here’s a quick guide of some affordable blanket scarf alternatives that will keep you both warm and cozy this fall/winter.  Have you added a blanket scarf to your fall/winter wardrobe yet? Where did you find yours? Let me know in the comments.
