Moody Style: Gold Dots

Now that we have cooler temperatures here in Florida, I’ve been all about layering lately.  Nothing keeps me warmer on a chilly day than either a wool coat, a down vest or a plaid blanket scarf like the one I’m wearing here.  The oversized style and soft fabric makes this scarf one of the coziest scarves in my closet. I love it so much that I bought it in several colors.  If you’re obsessed with this scarf like I am – check out my previous posts on plaid blanket scarves here.  I paired the scarf with a gold polka dot sweater that I searched long and hard for in the beginning of last year.  And I’m so glad that I did because it turned out to be a perfect match with just about anything that I wear with it.  I also added a chambray shirt, a pair of dark rinse jeans and leopard flats to complete this casual look for any time of day.  What are some of your favorite items in your closet? Or do you have any items that you wish you had in your closet?  Let me know in the comments below.

Moody Style: A Little Plaid

I hope that everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving – I know I did.  I ate way too much this past Thursday and I’ve been eating more than my share of leftovers ever since.  But you know what?  I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Spending the past few days with my family is something I always look forward to throughout the year.

Did any of you do any shopping this weekend?  Did you shop on Thanksgiving Day or on Black Friday? I did a little shopping on Thanksgiving Day after my family and I went to the movies.  We figured that we would check out some of the deals at the local Walmart since we were already out of the house.  I was able to grab a few deals for myself and I managed to get some Christmas shopping out of the way.  As much as I was against stores opening on Thanksgiving Day, I enjoyed getting some shopping done late in the evening after dinner.  And by the time we made it to the store, the crowds were bad either.  We were in and out of the store pretty quickly.  Let me know what stores you made it over the Black Friday weekend.

Moody Picks – Fall Now, Winter Later

The weather here in Florida finally started getting a little bit cooler, so it’s officially time for me to start thinking about ways to layer up during chilly temperatures.  But instead of reaching for my trusty old jacket again this season; it might be time for me to grab something that incorporates the newest fashion trends.  During my search I realized that keeping warm doesn’t have to come at the expense of style.  You can definitely find a silhouette that fits both your body type and your wallet.  Bundle up in my Moody Picks below and let me know which one of these is your favorite.

1. Isabel Marant Étoile - Gabrie Check Wool-Blend Coat
3. Burberry Prorsum - Color-Block Blanket Poncho
6. H&M - Fitted Coat
9. Gap - Classic Peacoat

Moody Picks – Plaid Blanket Scarf

As many of you know the blanket scarf trend is getting more popular and literally getting bigger each year.  Check out Burberry’s much larger blanket scarf/coat here – isn’t it fabulous?  I know that many of us missed out last year on ZARA’s infamous sold-out camel plaid blanket scarf (seen on AP here).  Many of us took to eBay in droves to track down any duplicate we could find to satisfy that immediate need.  This year ZARA came out with 3 more blanket scarves patterns that are already sold out online - which I’m not surprised. I’m secretly hoping that they will restock each of them at least one more time before the end of the year. If you are like me, some of you have been searching high and low for the perfect blanket scarf to add to your wardrobe this season.  Well, fret no more, I’ve done some of the research for you.  Here’s a quick guide of some affordable blanket scarf alternatives that will keep you both warm and cozy this fall/winter.  Have you added a blanket scarf to your fall/winter wardrobe yet? Where did you find yours? Let me know in the comments.

{two} chia seeds. as i mentioned previously, i’m eating a new food called mila, it has given me more energy to get through a long workday and it has increased my mental clarity and the best part is they send me a check. i recently decided to become an independent distributor of mila because i love the product so much and it’s made a huge difference in my life.  if you want to learn more about what mila is and all of its benefits, please click here.  and if you have a chance, check out the video here from abc about chia seeds.
