Fresh Picks to Follow – Tangerine Tango

In December 2011, color specialists Pantone named Tangerine Tango the color of the year for 2012.  This color was seen all over the catwalks in collections by top designers like Oscar de la Renta, Bill Blass, and Céline to name a few.   Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, describes Tangerine Tango as the “vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”   This juicy vibrant shade will compliment any wardrobe from spring all the way to winter.  I’m looking forward to checking out this hot new color in my favorite retailers throughout the year.  I’m even looking forward to checking out this “spirited reddish orange” hue in various pieces for home design. Anyways, here are my top 10 tangerine tango pieces for this week’s Fresh Picks to Follow.  Do you have any favorite tangerine inspired pieces in your closet?  Let me know!

Moody Style: Wavy Cables

I’m kicking off my birthday weekend starting with taking the day off from work tomorrow.  My sister and one of my really good friends from Chicago are coming into town Friday morning and I can’t wait to see them.  My birthday is officially on Saturday, but I plan to do a majority of my celebrating on Friday night.   I have a dinner planned with some of my family and friends and then we’re off to hit up some bars for the night.  On Saturday, I plan to relax, shop (really just window shopping for me), watch a movie (either “Safe House” or “The Vow”) and have a nice pasta dinner.  And then on Sunday, I’m running a half marathon race in the Donna Marathon Race to Finish Breast Cancer.  I’m hoping to have a fabulous weekend.  I need it after having a horrible week.  Do you all have your weekend planned yet?  What are you up to this weekend?
