Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 - Top 10 Picks

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Early Access is finally opening up to Nordstrom Insiders today at 9:30am EST.  Which means that if you are a Nordstrom cardholder, then you can shop the sale before the public on August 19th and snag some new fall finds.  And don't worry about items that are already sold out, some of them may be restocked or returned by other customers in the coming days/weeks.  Anyways, I just wanted to put together a quick top 10 list of some of my favorite picks that is currently available and reasonably priced.  If you aren't able to shop the sale yet, then you can reference this post when you are ready. Let me know what you guys think about the Anniversary Sale so far.  Are you planning on doing any shopping this year.  What are some of your favorites?

1. Spanx Faux Leather Leggings (Sale: $64.90 | After Sale: $98) These are the best faux leather leggings out there and definitely the most popular.  These leggings rarely go on sale, so this is the best time to buy them. I bought my first pair a couple of years ago and they really are worth the money.  I would recommend going up one size for the most comfortable fit.

2. Wit & Wisdom Ab-Solution Skinny Jeans (Sale $44.90 | After Sale $68) I bought these jeans during the last sale and I love how comfortable they are.  They have an elastic waistband build inside so you don't have to wear a belt or keep pulling them up. They are an awesome deal for under $50 and there are several different washes available here. 

3. Cozy Long Cardigan (Sale: $39.90 | After Sale: $69) This cardigan looks so cozy and soft.  This will be a great transition piece to add to any outfit.  It's available in 8 colors and runs true to size.

4. Oversized V-Neck High/Low Sweater (Sale: $45.90 | After Sale: $69) I just ordered this sweater in the beige oatmeal color to wear them with leggings. It may be a little oversized, but I went with my normal size.

5. Tory Burch Circle Logo Stud Earrings (Sale: $46.90 | After Sale: $78) I've always wanted a pair of these earrings, so I had to grab these since they were on sale.  These would make a perfect gift for the holidays or one to keep for yourself.  And there's also a matching necklace available if you don't like the earrings. 

6. Tory Burch Carson Convertible Leather Crossbody Bag (Sale $299.90 | After Sale: $498) I love the versatility of being able to wear this bag as a crossbody or as a shoulder bag. This bag is really cute and seams functional - a great bag to wear during the fall/winter season.  If this purse isn't your thing, then check out all of the other handbags available here. There are lots of great options if you're looking for a new bag.

7. Plaid One-Button Blazer (Sale: $65.90 | After Sale: $99) This blazer was one of the first things that caught my eye once the preview opened up.  It's a boyfriend fit so it's slightly oversized, so you may need to size down one depending on your frame.  I love that the plaid is neutral and a little muted. It will be easy to pair up with many items in your wardrobe. This one also comes in a plus size. 

8. Moonlight Dream Short Pajamas (Sale: $29.90 | After Sale: $49) This pajama set is a top seller from the sale every year.  They are super soft, breathable and they hold up very well in the wash. I tend to wear the pant set more just because I get cold easily and they are just as great.

9. Bliss Plush Throw (Sale: 24.90 | After Sale: $35.50) This throw is so soft and luxurious that it seems a lot more expensive than what it is.  This throw is priced perfectly for the sale, so everyone can grab one.  I have 2 of these at home and I've also bought these in the past for  Christmas gifts.

10. Gradina Block Heel Bootie (Sale: $99.90 | After Sale: $149.95) I'm so happy that they brought these booties back even though they are slight different than last year.  These were a top seller last year and one of my favorite purchases from the sale. I love the cut out style and the heel is pretty reasonable.  It comes in several other colors and even a couple snakeskin prints.

Happy Monday! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to the next level of cardholders and I'll finally be to shop today.  I'm sharing a few of the items that I bought already and some that are on my wishlist.  I also put together a few outfit ideas for you if you're thinking about grabbing anything during the sale. If you are still waiting to shop the sale, then you can save some of these items to your wishlist.  It makes it super easy for you to stay organized and add everything to your cart for check out.  And don't worry if you see that some things are sold out, some items may get restocked or eventually returned from other customers.  I hope that you have fun shopping the sale and that you're able to get everything on your list.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2020 Early Access

Hey Friends - it’s that time of year again! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally here. This is the best time to check out all of the new fall styles for the season and stock up on some wardrobe basics and splurge-worthy pieces like boots, jackets, handbags and high-end denim. And you save up to 40% off discounts on brands like SPANX, Sam Edelman, Tory Burch, Free People, Madewell, North Face and so much more!  Just like last year, I want to give you all a quick run-down of all of the details that you need to know to be fully prepared to shop without any hassles.

Nordstrom is doing things a little differently this year due to the COVID-19 situation.  Instead of canceling the event altogether, they decided to push the date back until August 19th.  And they added more time to shop for their loyal cardholders.  Here is the timeline for cardmember access and you can find out your access level by logging into your Nordstrom account.

HOW TO SHOP EARLY ACCESS

The best way to shop the sale before everything sells out is making sure that you have Early Access.  Nordstrom Cardholders have the opportunity to shop the sale about 2 weeks earlier than everyone else. But don't worry if you don't have a Nordstrom card, because the sale is open to the public on August 19th and some of the item will be restocked.

If you don’t already have a Nordstrom Credit Card, then you will need to sign up here to gain early access. And if you apply for the Nordstrom Card before July 10th, then you will get a $60 bonus note that can be used at a later time. 

SHOPPING STRATEGY

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale can be very overwhelming, especially if you don’t have a plan in place.  I think number one thing that you should do is to assess your fall wardrobe and make a list of items that you need to add/replace in your closet. And the second thing that would be helpful is to set an overall budget for yourself.  It’s super easy to get swept up in the excitement of the sale, believe me I know.  I’ve bought and returned a plenty of items in the past that weren’t within my budget and that I ultimately didn’t need.  

Pro Tip: Buy Now, Return Later - With that being said, don’t be afraid to order multiples sizes since some items sell out really fast and the shipping/return is free.  Be sure to focus on items that you use regularly and take advantage of stocking up on wardrobe basics and any home items.  This is also a good time to start thinking of holiday gifts.

WHAT SHOULD I BUY?

I’ve been shopping the Anniversary Sale for a few years now and I’ve noticed that Nordstrom tends to bring back some of the same items.  They may tweek an item here and there, but for the most part some are the same like these High-waisted Zella Leggings, this super soft Plush Throw, the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings, this Madewell Kent Cardigan Sweater and the infamous Barefoot Dreams In the Wild Throw.  

This year I plan to be very focused on things that I need to replace in my closet and a few items that I missed out on last year.  I plan to look for a really good pair of jeans, a couple of sweaters, basic t-shirts, a skirt and a couple of shoes.  I also plan to pick up a few beauty items because I've wanted one for a while now and it never goes on sale.
