Moody Style: Fall into Banana

Today I’m teaming up with Banana Republic to share some of my favorite classic pieces from the fall collection.  Banana Republic has always been my go-to store when it comes to buying classic, versatile and contemporary work ready separates.  Now I may be a little biased since I worked for the company for a few years after college, but I’m never disappointed when I walk into the store or search for something online.  I always know that I’m going to find effortlessly chic business casual pieces that I can wear to the office during the week as well as hanging out with friend on the weekends.

This Seamless Ribbed Crew is the perfect sweater for the cooler autumn weather.  The knit of this sweather is a super-soft cashmere blend that isn’t too heavy, but it keeps you warm.  You can layer it over a classic white or a striped button-down shirt for the office or mix it up like I did here with this sleeveless print tie-neck blouse.  I paired this sweater with the Avery-Fit Ankle Pant in the camel color.  The Avery-Fit is a professional and chic pant for work yet still trendy with a cropped ankle hem.  These pants are a perfect fit for me and they aren’t too fitted or tight, which is no-no in my office.  These pants will look great with a blouse like this one or this one and a blazer to create a more polished look.

When it comes to shoes, black heels are definitely the most reliable option and they can be added to almost any outfit. The Madison 12-Hour Pump comes in 8 different colors, including black to complete just about every look. These pumps are comfortable, feminine and professional all at the same time. I bought these heels in the secret plum color because I already own several black heels and I wanted to add a pop of color to my outfit.  So what do you all think about my favorite fall pieces from Banana Republic? Have you checked out Banana Republic’s new arrivals yet?  When you have a chance, head over to the site and let me know what are some of your favorites this fall.

Moody Style: Grateful for Gingham

You can never have enough colors of J.Crew's excursion quilted down vests, especially when they go on sale.  I own this vest in 5 other colors and I obsessed with them despite me living in a warm state like Florida. The vest is super comfortable and the gold snap pockets are stylish as well as functional.  The excursion vest is perfect for layering and the down insulation keeps you warm without overheating.  This irish moss vest is currently on sale for $99.99 as well as the heather tiger lily color.  And you can save an additional 30% off today when you use the code: 25HOURS.

Moody Style: Peplum Perfection

This peplum top is just too perfect and it's only $18.  As soon as I saw it in the store I knew I had to buy it.  It also comes in an olive green/white stripe and a solid black in case you're not loving the stripes.  The sleeves are a little snug, so I suggest sizing up on this one.  I'm wearing a medium here and I'm really happy about how it fits.  I love pairing any stripes with these leopard flats and this top is long enough for you to pair it with leggings - which I love.  And I normally would have added one of my Kendra Scott necklaces, but I can't get enough of this bowtie choker.  I think it really completed the look. What do you guys think? Are you guys loving the choker trend right now? Let me know in the comments below!

Moody Style: Leather & Lace

You may recall that I bought this BlankNYC Faux Leather Jacket over the summer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  It’s by far one of my favorite pieces that I picked up.  If you don’t already own a leather jacket, then I would suggest adding this one to your wardrobe.  This jacket is so versatile because it can be worn all year long – in the fall/winter you can wear it with a pair of dark rinsed jeans or a cute fall floral dress and in the spring/summer you can wear it with white jeans or even some pretty pastels.  It also comes in two colors like this camel/brown that I'm wearing and black.  And the $98 price point isn’t bad either considering the faux leather looks like the real thing. As far as the fit is concerned, I think the jacket runs a little small.  I’m wearing a Medium over this lace tunic and I think it would fit fine over a thin sweater too.  Well, what do you think about adding this faux leather jacket to your fall wardrobe? Let me know what other ways you would style it in the comments. Happy Friday Friends!

Moody Picks – Halloween Style Finds

Did you all realize that Halloween is exactly one week away? I know – time is flying by right?  It’s very rare that I buy a whole costume for the “scarest” night of the year.  I tend to pickup a few Halloween inspired pieces to wear on the holiday without committing to a whole outfit. And I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing the same thing again this year.

Whether you have plans to stay in and pass out candy, get dressed up for a costume party or just plan to get some candy trick or treating, here are 20 ways to incorporate a little Halloween style into your wardrobe without breaking the bank. Are you planning on dressing up this Halloween? Do you tend to go all out in full costume and make-up or do you tend to skip it altogether?

In the Mood – J.Crew + New Balance Collection

I’m sure that many of you already heard about the sporty J.Crew + New Balance collaboration that came out last week.  I’m already obsessed with this collection and have already placed an order on a couple of things (like this one and this one).  I mean if having workout clothes that’s full of navy and white polka dots, classic stripes and unique colors can’t motivate you to get in the gym, then I don’t know what will.  Check out some of my favorite pieces below and explore the full collection here.
