How to Shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - Five Tips!

Hey guys…well it’s almost that time again.  The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is just around the corner and it’s the best time to stock up on high-quality, reasonably prices staples for the upcoming fall season.  Here are 5 helpful tips to help you get ready for this one of a kind sale!

Tip #1 ~ Know the Dates: The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale officially starts on Thursday, July 21st and it ends on Monday, August 7th.  However, if you are a Nordstrom cardholder, then Early Access starts on Thursday, July 13th.  Cardholders get to shop the sale exclusively for a week and then the sale opens up to the general public on July 21st.

HERE’S A LIST OF IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:
Thursday, July 13th | Early Access for Nordstrom Cardholders Only
Thursday, July 21st | Anniversary Sale Open to the Public
Monday, August 7th | Last Day to Shop
Tuesday, August 8th | Prices Go Back to Full Price

Tip #2 ~ Sign Up for the Nordstrom Rewards Program: You can join Nordstrom Rewards Program without applying for a credit card and Nordstrom will give you a $10 Note to spend at Anniversary Sale.  With the Nordstrom Rewards program you will earn 1 point for every $1 spent (instead of the 2 points per $1 you get with the card) when you use cash or any card you want.  You get to use the Note during the regular sale period (July 21st-August 7th).  You must join Nordstrom Rewards as a Member by 11:59pm (Pacific Time) on July 9, 2017 and verify your mobile number to get this offer. Sign up for the rewards program HERE NOW!

Tip #3 ~ Get a Nordstrom Card ASAP: The only way to get into the Early Access Sale is to have a Nordstrom credit or debit card. I for one I’m pretty happy that they offer these two options. I personally chose to open a Nordstrom Debit Card because I don’t have to worry about paying off another credit card bill.  The Nordstrom Debit card links to your checking account, so it’s just like using your debit card, but you get to earn rewards points instead.  When you open a Nordstrom Card, you’ll get  a $20 Nordstrom Note for earning 2 points per dollar at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, HauteLook and Trunk Club. Read more about the Nordstrom Card and how to apply for one HERE.
Tip #4 ~ Start Planning and Review the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Catalog: Whether you plan to shop the sale early or when it opens to the public, one thing that you should do is start planning early.  If you’re anything like me, then you’re going to want to buy just about everything that you see in the store or online during the sale.  But don’t worry, there are few things you can do to avoid over spending.  First take inventory of your closet to see what items you need to replaced or added to your fall wardrobe.  Then think about what wardrobe staples that you want to add to your closet, like a pair of new boots, a new leather jacket or a new investment handbag.  And finally check out the Anniversary Sale Catalog that Nordstrom released last week to start planning ahead.  The catalog will give you some great ideas of what’s in store for us over the next few weeks.  And make a list of the things that your interested in buying, so you don’t forget when you get to the store. This is also the time to create a wishlist of certain items if the price is right, like a new Rebecca Minkoff crossbody or a pair of designer jeans.
Tip #5 ~ Set a Budget and Stick to It: Another way to avoid over spending is to set a budget of how much you want to spend and stick to it.  Don’t go into debt trying to keep up with everyone else.  It’s very easy to lose control and pick up a few more items that you didn’t plan to buy, but it’s important to remember that Nordstrom has a very generous return policy.  So you don’t have to be worry about returning some items that don’t end up working out after a few weeks.

Moody Style: Fall Back on a Favorite

Sharing a couple of my favorite pieces from the weekend, which includes this burgundy open front cardigan from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  It's available in all sizes right now and it comes in grey too.  I also found a couple similar versions like this one and this one, that offer several additional colors like black, green and brown.  I also really love these olive stretch denim moto leggings.  They are a little on the thin side, but they works perfectly with a longer top or cardigan.  These leggings are so super comfy and stylish, that I decided to buy the burgundy pair as well.  The best part of both of my favorite pieces is that they are both under $50.

Moody Style: Cowl Neck Dress

I wore this cute bodycon dress last month during my last trip to Savannah, GA.  The weather was exceptionally warm when I took these, so I didn’t dare add any layers for fear that I would overheat. I’m pretty sure that the temperature was in the high 90s and really humid.  Anyway, some of you may remember that I bought this dress during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and I’m super happy I did. This cowl neck dress is just the perfect dress to throw on when I want to feel a little flirty and sexy.  It will also transition into the fall season with ease.  I completed this look with my favorite chic lace-up heels and my trusty leopard clutch.  And once the weather cools down, I plan to add some booties like this pair or this pair for a complete fall look along with this faux leather jacket or a long cardigan. I can't wait for the fall weather to finally make it down here to Florida!

Do any of you have a favorite dress that can tranistion from summer to fall?  Let me know in the comments! Happy Friday Eve friends and thanks for stopping by!

Moody Style: Now and Later

Happy Friday Eve! I hope that you all are having a great week so far.  I’ve been traveling for work since Sunday and I still have one more day to go, so needless to say I’m ready for the weekend.  I’m also ready for a vacation.  I realized earlier today that I haven’t taken a real vacation this summer yet.  I’ve gone on mini trips here and there, but nothing like a true vacation where I’m sitting on a beach soaking up the rays or exploring a new city.  Hopefully, I’ll get something planned soon, so stay tuned.

The sleeveless cowl neck shift dress that I’m wearing was one of the first pieces that I wore from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  This dress is so easy to wear now by itself in the summertime with some cute sandals and accessories.  And it will transition perfectly later into the fall season.  Just add some booties and a denim or utility jacket and you’re ready for cooler weather.  A few weeks ago, I packed this dress to visit my sister out of town for the weekend.  This dress is so soft and lightweight, that it was easy to add to my luggage.  I decided to wear this dress to church because it’s comfortable and it’s a versatile piece that you don’t have to think about.  When I originally saw this casual dress online, I didn’t hesitate to order it right away.  I had a feeling it was going to be a flattering dress and I wasn’t disappointed.  The cowl neck has just the right amount of draping to it without make you feel too constricted like a turtleneck.  And this dress has pockets, which automatically made it one of my go to dresses for rest of the summer.  Did any of you get this dress during the #nsale?  If you didn’t you should still think about it.  The price isn’t bad at $38 and it comes in about 9 colors that include solid and stripe options to choose from as well.
